Comment:

Good guy, complete political nerd but clear that he really loves teaching. Very nice and funny guy unless you're disruptive to the class. Tough grader but really not that hard of a class. Not an easy A but definitely not a hard class. Take as long as you're willing to put in a little work but if you're good at politics and that stuff its mad easy.

Had him for a night bomb, always got let out early. He tells you what'll be on the tests. Hes very smart when it comes to government and politics. Short presentation on a current event. 10 min presentation on a President he assigns. Pretty funny guy, stay in his class you'll learn a lot.

Im Taking Lovoi for Government. Hes a good dude, knows ALOT about government and hes passionate about it. I took Gov in highschool so to me the class seems very easy, but he essentially tells you before the test what you need to study. The class is easy, and hes a pretty funny dude. Id take him again for sure

Funny professor. Starts off tough and strict but warms up. He doesn't want clowns in the class. If you're planning to goof off, skip class, and sit in the back of the class and say nothing, he's going to grill you on it. Take it if you're the kind of student who likes the subject and can contribute thoughtful comments in class

This class was not too bad. 3 tests during the year and a final. There was also one paper to write, but it was pretty easy. No homework aside from the paper, which he gives plenty of time to do. Make sure to attend every class though because he tests based on what he says in class, not what is in the book. I would take him again.

Semester is about to end. Professor Lovoi offers office hours that he never attends, or if you try to email him he will either blatantly ignore your or give you other extremely inconvenient hours. Definitely thought this was going to be an enjoyable class, ended up being a terrible experience, with a professor who doesn't care.

At first I believe taking Prof. Lovoi was a good idea, oh boy was I wrong. He can be very intimidating and will call you out for something if he doesn't like it. Depending on his mood he will give you pop quizzes. Makes terrible jokes, tries to get people into politics, and definitely can make exams go from easy to impossible very quick....

very enthusiastic. he's a funny guy too. knows a LOT about his subject. the materials pretty easy but Lovoi keeps it interesting. highly recommend taking your GLS requirement with him.

Was NEVER available for office hours. Probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. Knows his stuff, I will give him that, but other than that he was not very helpful. 3 tests with 1 10-12 page pager at the end. Knocked me off a FULL letter grade for not having sources in every paragraph of my paper.

Great guy. Can act quite crazy at times, but a funny kind of crazy. I had his 8:30 class, and every day he would run in yelling something, which can get annoying, but definitely keeps me from falling asleep. He LOVES politics. He's really into what he teaches and he really knows his stuff, which makes it interesting.

He definitely knows his stuff, religiously. You're asked to read a chapter before each class, but it's optional. Exams are based only on what is discussed in class, so take good notes. One short quiz, midterm, and final. Classes (in the fall, at least) have to write a 15-20 page state election report, but it's easy. Take this class.

Guy is a jerk. Tries to scare his students in stupid childish ways- it's lame and gets old real fast. If you pay attention in class and take good notes you do not need to read. All tests and quizzes are based on what HE says NOT the book. 3 quizzes, mid term, final and a 10 page research paper.

Ok there is a mid-term and a final. If you know anything about American history before taking the class you should be fine. GOt a 4.0 and didn't even read all the chapters. You could share a book with someone if you dont want to buy your own. Def suggest taking him!
