Didn't grasp a whole lot from his lectures. SQL examples in class were useful. Taught myself how to do the semester long group project. Quizes do not reflect material that's gone over in class. The quizes are straight from the book.

These positive comments are jokes, the recent one is lying cause there isnt even a Mid Term and we havent taken the final yet. Most of our classes comments are getting deleted. Omis majors are sad, this class is unorganized and the Professor literally has taken points from us and goven them back only after we notice it.

I don't understand why people rated him so low here but Dr. Mackie is a great person and outstanding professor. It is an easy A class, Midterm and final are similar, and the SQL project is not that hard, on top of that he will gives you lot of extra time for doing it.

This was a great elective. It is a hands-on IT course and more than 70% is reading, writing, and interpretation of code or database diagrams. The rest is in the theory. The struture of the course is set up for you to learn. Dr. Mackie is a great person and outstanding professor. We worked his ass off to grade everyone and ensure understanding.

He is worst teacher I have ever had. He makes assignments due at midnight on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before exams. He answers every questions you ask like a personal attack, if he even answers it at all. I'm a 3.7 gpa student (if that makes me any more credible) and I am struggling in his class. DO NOT TAKE MACKIE! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Dr. Mackie has been one of my favorite professors. Genuine great man. His teaching style is definitely different. He expects you to learn on your own (easy cause books walk u thru assignments)Gives work time in class & teaches little, but if you ask questions he'll explain thoroughly.

One of the absolute worst teachers I've ever had in my entire life. Very unprofessional and unorganized. Constantly changed due dates, sometimes without telling the class first. I would highly recommend not taking this professor, but he's the only one who teaches the class. Avoid if at all possible.

This guy is terrible he talked more to 2 students about TV's and wireless technology than he did about the class. Changed due dates and assignment daily, I can't believe I paid for the class. Luckily I was smart enough to get out of there with an A but he is still terrible.

Very knowledgeable. Very disappointed with class. He just read straight from the power point slides, unstructured in class, and the sylabus wasn't followed. The grading criteria for the assignments was not consistent. Testing didn't reflect what was covered in lecture. Mr. Mackie, I hope you improve your teaching style.
