She's a good professor but very old style. You have to absolutely attend class or you will fall very far behind. Seems to enjoy what she does and you can tell. I would probably take her class again.

Comment:

Difficult to understand and follow her directions as she is not clear. Not helpful and appears to be very disorganized. Her notes are a mess, some are hand written and hardly legible, other overheads are in poor shape. The way she bounces around in the lecture makes it hard. I'm Phi Theta Kappa and received a C. I do not reccomend her as a Prof.

You have to take good notes and attend all classes if you plan on passing her class. Her overheadss are handwritten and hard to read, and the art lecture each week will put you to sleep. The test questions are very trivial so if you take her class be ready to study boring material, hard.

I don't know what everyone else is whining about. Yes. She's tough. To pass, YOU MUST: attend class; take good notes; listen to her; and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS. It's elementary, geniuses. And I am NOT a straight A Student nor do I hold ANY degrees. It is BOTH a history AND and an art Class. And the smart guy misspells plagiarism. Babies.

She is a nice woman but not very clear. I think she tries to be helpful, just that she isn't actually. I did well in her class though. If you take her class, be sure to take good notes and attend class. Missing even one class will hurt you a lot. Don't miss the large lectures either- she tests from those. Not the worst teacher I've ever had.

Avoid! Unecessarily tough grader (no one got an A on any assignment, and I'm a straight A student). Almost all assignments are Art, not History type. Could swear I didn't sign up for an Art class. Don't waste your time or money here. You've been warned, AVOID!

this prof seems to not take into consideratio a students background or level of education. as a returning student with a Bachelors degree in an arts area I was chastised for writing an excellent arts review by being accused of plagerism.

if you go to class and take notes, you will do fine. she is a tough grader and expects you to analyze things not just spit her notes back to her. You will learn a lot from her, and she has take home tests with essay questions. The final is all essay!

its kinda odd you feel like you have learned ALOT and then you get a C or a B and D on different sections of the same test-you cannot read her writing so you have to ask for feedback from exams/papers-i think shes grades a little to critical as we are just students learning what she already knows-but im glad i had her instead of the others

As earlier mentioned, notes are hard to follow and she gets off on tangents with other students. She is an EXTREMELY tough grader, as I had 10 pages for my take home essay and got a C. I am an English major, so this was very frustrating.

I had her for both 151 and 152. I thought that she was fair and the class was rather simple. I switched into her 152 from another 152 class b/c she is so much better. Very up front on how she tests and what she expects. The large essay for mid and final is take home from class notes. If you show up to class it is hard not to do well. Study notes!

She's very knowledgable and passionate about history, but she comes to class with handwritten overheads from the 18th century that can be hard to read at times. Be prepared to study a lot! It was not an easy A for me. She's also not the warmest personality on staff.

Her overhead notes, her handwriting is so terrible, not only me but my classmates had a hard time reading her notes. She also goes very fast during lectures and also we have no idea where we are all the time. We should had min tests through out the quarter and she grades us very hard.

Probably the worst professor that I've encountered. Her classes require WAY too much time in contrast to other courses. Her lectures are disjointed and are too rushed. Almost no tests besides finals and mids. Don't know where one stands until then. A+ stu
