I have had professor Bell in both HIST 2014 and HIST 2049, and he has become one of my absolute favourite professors at Dal. - Lectures are interesting and well-planned - Makes his best effort to clarify any questions during lectures - WILL GIVE YOU AN EXTENSION FOR PAPERS, no-questions asked - Tells you exactly what is on midterm and final

Most friendly and helpful teacher I've encountered yet. Clearly very interested in what he's teaching. Also repeats himself throughout the lecture which can be helpful if you're unclear on something. Rarely uses slides, a lot of listening required but not difficult!

Epic prof, very approachable. Not too shabby a lecturer himself. Big military historian too. found that there was a lot of textbook use in the class. But textbook was more supplementary than anything

I was so excited about this class going into it, but I found that Dr. Bell focused on things that weren't super significant to the time period and could have been dealt with a lot faster, which caused us to not even get close to finishing the time period (and the stuff I really wanted to learn about). Very frustrating.

Bell is a military and history student's dream come true. His teaching quality is evident (he has plenty of accolades to back it up),and he is a super nice guy outside of class. Don't be surprised if you end up taking all his courses or spend hours talking about Alberta or something random. Register early for his classes-they always fill up

Bell is easily the best prof I have ever had. He is not only an expert in his field, but also the nicest prof outside of class. He is understanding and kind when it comes to extensions. Great lecturer! Couldn't wait to be in his class again every year. Very true: Once you go Bell, you can't go back..

Good prof, although his marking wasnt always what I expected to receive, lol. HIs 3050 class was awesome, but could have gotten into more detail if it were an x/y course. He has a light work load, but each assignment is worth a trillion points, so dont mess even one up.

Dr Bell is the best prof at dal. His lecturs are really interesting, and there were times when I could clearly picture the events taking place. He is the nicest prof. out side of class because he goes out of his way for all of his students and is really supportive. Take as many classes from him as you can!
