Best professor I have ever had. He is very detailed and know all of his material. I don't think there is a better professor at this University. He really cares about his students. If you actually care about college then I would take this professor. His class really isn't that difficult if you just try. I would give this professor a 5 out of 5.

The worst Professor I have ever had on campus. Wouldn't recommend his class, he talks about himself and most of the time stuff that don't relate to the class a lot rather than just focusing on the class material, he grades really hard. He should retire.

Here's the test of a good professor. I took this course more than 30 years ago. I knew next to nothing going in. Today, over three decades later, I remember everything I learned from Dr. Jones. He took a potentially dry subject and made it fascinating, and explained WHY it was important to know. When he says "this will be on the final," learn it!

Dr. Jones is a spectacular professor, but has a style that some students object to. I would suggest that if you take the class for an easy A or aren't actively engaged, you won't do well. If students don't like him, it's because he didn't put up with their crap. He genuinely cares and he is brilliant. Disregard the bad reviews. Dr. Jones is great.

I took American Presidency from Dr. Jones during Fall 2011. I really enjoyed the class. You can't find a professor that knows more about the topic or cares more about the success of his students. Between Dr. Jones and his T.A., both were really helpful in answering my questions. Dr. Jones really is a great professor, take his classes!

He will NOT stop talking about his connections, or himself. He'll say "This is on the test" a dozen times and just lecture about youth not being worth crap. He WILL harass you (called my phone just to whine about nothing, and I had to complain to the chair) and try to make you take a political internship no matter what your major.

Very tough. I was on a non-stop grind the whole semester in order to scrap to the grade I received. He expects a lot out of the students, but if you take very solid notes, you can hope to get a good grade. If you plan on taking this class, develop some sort of routine to retain what he says in class- everything will be on the final.

This class was a major disappointment and a waste of time. I appreciate the passion Dr. Jones has for politics, but passion is no substitute for substance. If Dr. Jones would have spent more time discussing the Presidency and less time talking about himself I wouldn't be feeling like I just spent $1,260 to waste an hour and a half twice a week.

Dr. Jones is loved by so many of his former and current students. This perplexes me. He knows a lot but is a terrible disorganized teacher. His lectures are the most scattered and impertinent that I have heard in my three years at this University. I would highly encourage anyone to find a different prof for this class. You'll thank me.

He really knows his stuff. Makes an effort to know students... he notices you whether you realize it or not, wants everyone to succeed. Very passionate in the subject. Not the easiest but go to the review sessions and put a star whenever he says 'this will be on the final' read the chapters and you will do just fine.

Very passionate about the subject. In order to pass this class you have to do a fair amount of studying. He gives a lot of review sessions for the exams. He didn't give out any homework other than to read chapters in the textbook. Overall Dr. Jones is a great teacher.

Dr. Jones is an incredible professor. He's someone who does an incredible amount of work outside of the classroom yet still manages to put his heart and soul into every lesson. I cannot recommend him any more highly. If there's any professor that's worth putting in the effort to get to know outside of the classroom it's him.

I don't know what other people are talking about, he is very hard to learn from. He doesn't complete his thoughts... or even sentences. I have never failed a class in my life, and I failed his. He said "this will be on the final" so many times that the phase lost all meaning. He tells lengthy stories that have no relevance to the subject.

Ok, if you can't handle a Prof. that cares don't take a class by Dan Jones. I absolutely loved his class and I loved how passionate Prof. Jones is about the subject. Yeah, he's tuff if not the toughest, handed me my only B+ in the Poly Sci department but listen to him. You'll learn more than just the subject material. Thanks Prof. Jones

He's definitely knows his stuff, and he's a professor I will always remember. You can't miss class much, which was kinda hard for me. He's fairly demanding, but he's very well educated and has a lot of experience. I learned a lot from that class. Granted, I may have forgotten some of it since, but it was a good class.

Dr. Jones is amazing, he really explains everything upfront. He is fair, doesn't give surprises on tests-- everything on his tests was definitely mentioned in class-- he may even say "this will be on the final". Really nice prof if you can accept his knowledge and experience and even though he is older he relates well. Loved the class.

Dr. Jones is a Political Science legend. I took 1100 from him, and loved it. However, this class was rather disappointing. He often got sidetracked and forgot what he was doing. The readings were scattered and hard to incorporate into the class lectures. He seemed confused/absentminded. As much as I love Dr. Jones, its time for him to retire.
