I've never seen a teacher be so disrespectful to his students trying to learn in uncertain times, or to a special needs student for no good reason other than his voice "annoys him." If you even try to correct him because of something he absolutely did wrong, he throws tantrums and tries to embarrass you. Honestly, how is he still teaching??

Absolutely horrible instructor, spends at least a month wasting time before the class actually starts and even then he easily spends around 60% of any given class session ranting about unrelated topics. Do not take if you actually want to learn anything.

I have lost my passion for film making during this course. He's very picky on screen writing, and can be strict on assignments.

I took him a couple semesters ago and although Mr. Jacobo does talk a lot, most of it does have to do with the class in some way. He does EVERYTHING he can for his students to succeed. Practice tests, in-class review, and everything is clearly listed and available online. I just went to the library to use the textbooks instead of buying them.

He is very passionate but unfortunately he really isn't that good of a professor. He rants way too much and takes forever to start teaching. He's great hands on but awful when teaching a class as a whole. People like him because his classes are easy to pass but the issue is you can finish the class feeling like you learned nothing.

Passionate professor, who relates content to how students can utilize it in their productions. He is a unique teacher, and essential to the film department. He brings artistry to light within technical aspects.

passionate about his job and film. talks way too much about things that dont even pertain to the subject. talks about himself a lot and random things. class could start at 12 pm, but you wont start learning any material till about 1 pm because he doesnt stop talking. he gets political talk and can be offensive. attendance matters

Great professor, he really breaks down the psychological aspect of cinema and how the world we live in influences cinema.

He talks more about stuff that doesn't pertain to the cinematic history, wasting time on nonsensical things. Most of us are on our phones or doing other class assignments, not paying attention. Assignments are not clear as to when they are due. There are other professors at this college who Lecture beautifully with passion on this subject.

Easy A class although he is sooo boring and his class never ends. he doesn't accept being late or not attending. 45%of the grade is attendance. Useless class needs aperson who wants to stay doing nothing , all you should do is solve the exam he give you and come paste it in class.

Would not recommend taking his class if you want to learn about cinema/film. Talks about himself the whole lecture. Quizzes are easy if you study the study guide. Would recommend if you want an easy A

Instead of learning about World Cinema you will learn about the life of Professor Jacobo. Some might not care about it but as a film student and someone genuinely interested in the subject this class was underwhelming. He talked about himself cooooonstantly. And it's a very easy class. SO easy it's funny.

He didnt give us his A game in teaching us how to work and edit film, possibly due to him losing one of his staff. I feal like i learned more from my classmates and asking them questions last fall, but i say give him a chance if you deeply want to get into film. you can ask him just about anything of film. he has connections to.

Teacher clearly had a vendetta against me. Received a C+ instead of an A because he would not grade my final. Mr. Jacobo announced that he would not grade my final in front of the whole class, WHAT! The WHOLE class was done with the final, the whole class was sitting around talking. Instead I got singled out by this self-absorbed UN-professor. SMH!

The most misunderstood proffesor. His teaching style is unorthodox and you're never quite sure where you stand with him, but there is a lot to learn here. Most students expect a traditional, "just tell me what to do and I'll do it" type of classroom but you won't find that here. Listen to what he says carefully, it always has a meaning.

One of my favorite teachers at Chaffey College. I took every class he offered and learned a lot of useful material. He tends to wander during his lectures but id rather hear a funny story than something boring. lol Would recommend to anyone considering a film class.

This class is definitely an easy A, but be prepared for at least 80% of your lecture of professor Jacobo talking about himself. He is the most narcissistic prof I've ever had. Study guides are word for word of the tests, just the questions mixed around and make sure to always look at Jacobo's "amazing" website constantly. Take prof Rivas instead!
