Comment:

3 essays, surprisingly enjoyed the texts we read and wrote about. You don't need to read the books, just google or youtube some reviewers on them and you can understand enough within an hour. Good grades come from showing enthusiasm in your essay, plenty of references (from more than one place), and going to class. If she knows you, you're good.

Comment:

Really kind and helpful prof. I guarantee those who are rating her poorly simply didn't go to class, and are pissy about their bad grade. I'll admit, what she expects on her papers isn't very clear, but they're still super easy if you go talk to her. GO TO CLASS, otherwise you won't know how to answer the test questions. I repeat, GO TO CLASS!!!

Extremely unorganized, unclear of expectations and guidelines and marks hard on papers (no in the midterm). 70% of your grade is made up of papers- which has no clear guidelines on what she expects or is looking for. Lectures are erratic and all over the place, she has no timeline for herself and constantly goes off on tangents. Very disappointed

She tends to be really confusing. This is caused by her lack of material. She mainly posts a million ancient texts and comments on them. Therefore, always be in class to take notes from what she says. Otherwise, very friendly lady and super easy class because she marks so easy, as long as you listen in class. Also, texts aren't super useful.

Comment:

She was very clear about what she expected from us on all of our exams and assignments. It was extremely easy to predict what was going to be on an exam simply by paying attention to what she emphasized in class. I did minimal readings and still did very well. She answered her emails quickly and clearly. Overall she was an amazing prof!

Her lectures are very confusing and she is unclear about all of her assignments. She doesn't tell you why you lost marks or provide any feedback on the papers you write. Unusually hard marker for a class based on ancient greek sports.

The more you get to know Reyes, the easier the class feels. She helps students read through the Greek text, and midterms are based off of the readings. Fun class considering not many people take it!

Reyes has a great love of the Greek studies, but her lectures are a bit scrambled. Overall you get the info that you need and she makes the class enjoyable. She has a good sense of humour and is very easy going. The class was simple, but you needed to show up to get a better insight than the book gave.

Just a beauty. You don't have to attend class, but I found it helpful. All she cared about was that you "learn" something. 3 papers, thats the course. Marks fairly easy on the papers too. Greek Sports, does it get any better?

Dr. Bertolin admittedly is full of rants, dull from time to time and has a habit of saying "anyways". However I must say that she is enthusiastic about the course content and passionate. She does not make use of technology but making the effort (which some students are lacking now a days) to meet her during office hours is extremely beneficial.

Although she can be a bit confusing at times, overall Professor Bertolin is great! Her off-tangent rants are frequently amusing, and she is a very easy marker. The tests were easy, but since there is no text-book you might want to go to class to do well.

Reyes is a fantastic Prof, she loves what she teaches about and if you attent lectures and listen in class you will get a very high mark. She is very funny too!!

Not good. Disorganized, difficult to follow. Almost impossible to take notes from. Did not respond to e-mails. Assignment expectations very unclear. Fortunately it was a pretty easy class and she marked easily as well. Would not recommend if you're interested in actually learning though.

Great prof for lecture but she is very disorganized and does not tell you she wants from the papers, nor does she give you any feedback. You have to seek her out and ask her questions yourself if you want a better answer than "yeah, more or less". However, she is very helpful when you do seek her out. Nice lady though :)

I really enjoyed this class. Her lectures were pretty funny sometimes and always easy to follow. She is very approachable. Pay attention in class and you will ace the final.

My buddy and I tried to keep count of how many times she said 'anyways...' after going off on a nonsensically garbled tangent. Anyways, she knew her stuff and was helpful when approached but our TAs were useless and they marked our papers.

She's really cute and passionate about the subject. But she is really, really disorganized. I looked forward to every lab because my TA made a billion times more sense. That being said, the tests were pretty easy and the class was interesting.

Comment:

Professor Bertolin, though very knowledgeable and funny is a very disorganized prof. She goes off topic frequently in class and it is sometimes difficult to understand her. Her tests and the essays are fairly easy but there is so much material to cover and then the test has very few questions so she is not very clear on what exactly to study.
