He is a HORRIBLE professor. He does not teach, he does not even distribute a syllabus. It seemed like a really interesting course but you learn absolutely nothing. The first few weeks will involve him showing up 15-20 minutes late, and then putting a movie on to watch. Your grade is based on ONE paper, and if it's not a topic he likes, GOODLUCK!

This class is amazing. If you're going to lecture, you're wasting your time. Read the textbook and go to discussion you'll do very well. This class will make your semester look like a 12 credit class. The professor is nice and you'll learn a lot from him not about stats for the exam but stats in general (life, research) it's great!

Material asked about ton the exam is very different from his lectures and discussion. Study the textbook for exams it will be much clearer and more relevant to exams than lecture. Go to discussion the TA makes the information very clear

The guy is by and far the worst teacher I have ever had. If you take this class be prepared to learn nothing, and basically waste your time. He is an inconsistent grader, and is not help in any aspect of the course. The good part is there is basically no work, but the bad part is he test you on subjects he doesn't even teach.

He's AMAZING. He knows SO MUCH about the subject, if anything just from sheer life experience. Whoever is giving bad reviews is probably just impatient because of his age. He's an old man, calm down. It's also not his fault that statistics is such a tedious subject. When it comes to psych, his class is great.

He is probably the nicest professor I have ever encountered at BU. He is extremely enthusiastic and well versed in the subject. The people who gave him bad reviews were in statistics, which i really think makes a difference because his psychology class is so much better. He's just a sweetheart and so understanding if you ever need any help.

He is such an interesting professor! People on here don't seem to give him a fair chance! He's older, so he may talk a lot, but he does a great job of getting though the material and his stories are priceless!

He rambles in lectures, makes creepy comments to pretty girls, makes discriminatory comments, doesn't clarify his explanations well, and lectures from a textbook. I passed this class via reading the textbook, using the book's practice questions and going to discussion regularly. Inderdeep, the TF, wrote the exams and did all the grading!

I took learning theory with Dr. Mostofsky in 1972 (not a typo). Apparently his teaching skills have not improved! But he is extremely knowledgeable and very approachable. Dr. Mostofsky became my adviser for Distinction work, conducted at Boston Children's Hospital. I became a psychiatrist and researcher. I owe my career to him.

Don't take this class unless you absolutely have to. Honestly, the class is very interesting However, not only are the 2 quizzes worth a ton, but they have nothing to do with what he tells you to study. He is very inconstant with grading, and tells you things won't be on the quizzes and then they are. He is no help with the final paper either.

Just bad... Grading is not good. Quizzes mean everything! Study that textbook instead of going to lecture if you must take the class! Really awful. That's all you need to know...

He has tenure and it often shows. The textbook is brilliant. Did not go to lecture more than 5 or 6 times and did better than some others who did.

This is honestly the WORST class I have ever taken in all of my schooling. He is a terrible professor. He doesn't explain the concepts at all, and he doesn't apply them to the real world because he can't even explain them. He doesn't teach important rules that students should know. His tests make no sense. Don't EVER take this class.

As a person, he's really nice. But he goes off on tangents, and multiple times during lecture he's made errors in examples that he is constantly correcting. I need this course for my major so I am struggling through it, but I'm having a hard time and I've already taken a stats class. I would not recommend taking this class with him!

His lecture style is very random, but the tests are straightforward from textbook questions. Any edition will do. Aplia problems help somewhat, but the program is rather expensive. Attend lectures or office hours will help with your final grade. Material was literally basic stats. Hope for a great TF! Ben was amazing!
