A very kind and smart professor. If there is an easy way he will never use a complicated way to explain concepts.

Awesome professor. The material isn't easy, but he explains topics very well which makes learning the material as easy as possible. If you're willing to do the work, you can get a lot out of this class.

David is an amazing professor. He cares about all of his students and wants kids to pass. There is webwork due every day you have class but as long s you do it you get an easy 200 points at the end of the semester. Tests can be hard but he is willing to go over every problem you get wrong and makes sure you understand what you did wrong.

Awesome professor! He actually care about students! It is a hard course, so you need to put a lot of energy and effort during the semester! I loved his course and appreciate his way of teaching:)

Comment:
I would not recommend this instructor for this course, he might be better at higher levels. This course is required for a lot of students and I feel he makes it more stressful than required, I'm working incredibly hard and struggle as he skips over steps in lectures, gives impossibly long tests, and rarely shows you how a problem is done.

Comment:
He skips steps during examples without saying so and it confuses a lot of students. He assigns homework that has not been taught in class or in your book so you are stuck trying to figure it out on your own on the internet. He bases the tests off of your homework instead of the in class notes so be sure to study off of your Webwork homework.

Helpful the first time but always seems eager to get you out of your office. Demands everything be done his way and his way ONLY. Assigns homework before we cover the lectures in class and the homework is MUCH more difficult than what's explain in book or in class. Good lecturer very clear, but BRUTAL assignments and exams. Avoid if you want an A.

Mr. Roberts is a good instructor. It's highly recommended that students show up for class, as much of the test material (although derived from textbook) is shown and clarified in class. If you ask for assistance with an area, he is more than willing to help, although sometimes his answers are sort of ambiguous. Tough, but a student can learn a lot.

A lot of people like him, but I found him condescending in a lot of cases, and I quickly became afraid to ask him questions. He is good when lecturing, and most people like him, so maybe it's just me.

I took two classes with Dave Roberts and think he's the best math professor at UMM and probably one of the best in the whole University of Minnesota system. Unlike many other professors, he does a superior job emphasizing the important concepts. He genuinely cares and is very willing to help students understand both during class and office hours.

I got a math major at UMM and am now teaching math at a MN high school. He is the BEST math teacher, scratch that, the best teacher, I have ever had. I took about 5 classes with him and loved each one. Very few professors have the brights and the teaching ability as Professor Roberts does!

He's very good at explaining material to individuals who don't have a knack for math. It was a good idea for the department to get him to teach precalc.

Does a really good job not glossing over the more difficult stuff. He also likes to show people how to use computers to do cool stuff with math.
