I took this class seven years ago and, while true that it was probably too technology-oriented, it was the only course in which I really learned anything I could practically apply to teaching. He's available to help you, but won't keep bugging you about it. So much work, but definitely worth it.

When it comes to using what he teaches in the classroom, his teachings do not apply. Though he taught a methods class in theory, he really taught us a technology class in practice. And what he taught really doesn't have the funding in schools to back it. I should know. I am an 8th Grade American History Teacher, and have been for the last 5 years.

Teaching methods class was completely useless. Not applicable to any real life situation. Spent the whole semester making a useless digital portfolio I haven't used in 6 years since. Didn't learn one useful thing about teaching students. Dr. Cantu, its me, planet Earth. Nice to meet you.

Very intelligent teacher who knows his stuff. The class focuses intensely on technology and how to implement it in your history teaching. Some great basic knowledge to have, but VERY time consuming. Be prepared to spend countless hours on his projects.

The work for Mr. Cantu's class is not very difficult but it is time consuming. The major flaw with Dr. Cantu's class is the amount of technology taught in the classroom is great, however schools do not have this technology to use.

Dr. Cantu is a great teacher! He really knows his stuff and relates it well to his students. Everything is germane to the the goal of the class and important to the future of his students.
