He's a nice guy and is really chill, but he is a very VERY hard marker. I busted myself in his class and he still nitpicks everything and anything and takes a lot of marks off for it. Since effort doesn't get proportionally rewarded, I now work less and am content to get a decent grade and put my effort in other classes that are worth my effort.

Had him as a t.a a few years back, what an amazing guy. Took time out of his day to meet with students, gave clear instruction on assignments. You work for the grade you want, pretty lenient. Very approachable. Looking for classes to take with him again

Absolutely horrible. Gives vague instructions and then tells you what he was really looking for only after he gives you a bad mark. Incredibly subjective marking cannot explain why you didn't get a good mark. Avoid at all costs he is terrible. I'm an A+ writer in all of my other courses and couldn't even get a B with him.

Hated the course itself, but im not gonna lie he made it slightly more enjoyable as my TA with his dry humor. HARD MARKER. and i repeat ... hard ... marker. Our entire class told him too & he denies it. Go above and beyond with essays, PARTICIPATE in class (very important) and you'll be golden.

Dion was a great TA! He was very helpful and full of insight towards analyzing the readings. The course itself was very demanding (lots of papers, assignments!), so having Dion as a TA was a huge benefit.

An English TA in a Science Fiction Class who didn't know what postmodernism is?? Whoa. I would have preferred some of my peers to lead that tutorial instead of him, they had more insights! He couldn't lead or stimulate discussion and I dreaded going to his awkwardly boring tutorial. I got a good mark, but only after enduring painful boredom...

Well he helped me out a lot on my essay, he clearly knows his stuff and a very smart man. his lectures are rambles, he asks open-ended questions on exams and essays, but he doesn't tell you what to think, and is subjective, which is good in film classes

You can tell he knows a lot about the subject. He allows students to express themselves w/o putting down their opinions. Only problem is that he reads from the readings at times which can get boring. Unorthodox way of teaching, young = ez to relate.

I think dion is an excellent teacher. He gives students the ability to engage with material they normally would not be exposed to. His lectures are were insightful and thought provoking. Good professor and a nice guy.
