He is a great teacher. You must go to class in order to know what is going on since he is old style and doesn't really use canvas. He cares a lot about his students and will go out of his way to make sure you pass, of course if he saw you trying all semester. During Covid-19 he did great being understandable and making things easy.

Okay heres the thing Dr. Ong had no idea how to explain things he gives out lab reports goes over it once and never talks about it again. He tells you what to do in lab in a quick review and expects you to get everything down without needing his help anymore plus he DOESNT answer emails .

Professor Ong is great, he cares about students and is very accessible if you have questions. I don't recommend the very very short summer semester, too much. Tests are on lectures and handouts, the book is secondary. He does cool demonstrations.

Ed was a really great teacher, but his lectures can be repetitive and long. He only gives 3 tests and the final, but he drops the lowest test score. He gives out extra credit randomly. TAKE HIS LAB ALSO! It's helpful to have the same teacher so you go over the same stuff.

Dr. Ong is so funny & makes you want to be in class. He uses silly stories & sounds to help you remember critical concepts. He loves his job! Just because it's Lab doesn't mean he'll use every minute of class to either lecture and/or experiment. But he utilizes time well & I learned more in his mini-lectures before lab than in actual lecture class!

Didn't really use the textbook so I'd say save your money and check it out at the library if you really need it. Ed is nice and wants you to learn so he's great for that. He is really proud that he gives so many handouts out for some reason? I'd rather he taught the material than just give a handout.

Dr. Ong was a great professor he goes step by step and offers extra credit, if you've taken chemistry in the past it shouldn't be hard I got a B and missed a week of class. ALSO pay attention he gave away a few questions for upcoming tests.

He was a great professor. He gave a lot of example of each topic to make sure you really understand. I took this class in summer so it was tough but he gave us some extra credits.

Ed spent so much class time repeating stories and trying to scare us about the difficulty of future chemistry courses, that we were months behind on material for the final. So he just threw a bunch of handouts at us to learn the new material on our own like a week before the final. I wouldnt take another class with him. Nice guy though.

In order to pass this class you must attend class everyday, take really good notes, and study with classmates. Exams are tough! His exams are similar to the problems he writes on the board. if you takes good notes you should be fine. Class is kinda hard but he also gives a lot of extra credit to help you pass the class.

Best class I've taken at PC so far. Very organized professor who provides lots of examples on classwork and answers questions seriously. If you want to learn the material, take this class!! As long as you show up and practice throughout the term, you will leave this class with an A and knowledge on the subject matter. Would take again... for FUN!

He is really funny, and really wants to succeed. He is very passionate about the material so he will get off topic sometimes. I took this class in the summer and I'm so glad he was my professor.

By far, Ed Ong is the best teacher I've ever had in a community college. He teaches his class with passion and does not treat students like people who's just trying to get an easy pass. He goes into depth with his lectures. Beware, if you just wanna pass and don't care about learning do not take this class!! He uses calculus! to explain concepts!

Was an easy summer class, he was lenient on grading and the workload was reasonable. He shows up late every day, tells dumb jokes, tends to ramble, and tends to be up your butt during lab about what it is you're doing. However, the course was by no means a difficult summer class. Personally, I think his cheesy personality is worth the "easier A"

To be honest this is a tough class and I recommend taking it at South Mountain Community College with Scarbourgh ot mactosh. They teach it a better way and actually want you to pass their classes. Ed teaches this class like a 300 level ASU class for biochem majors, why stress yourself out?

If you don't pass the first two exams in his class you're screwed. His exams are timed for only 1 hour for 24 questions or so and they are super hard. The professor expects you to know everything about the course when you begin. The lectures are super heavy and with too much information. Miss one day you're screwed for the rest of the semester.

He's a good teacher but he's really hard. You have to be really smart at chemistry to pass his class and take all the knowledge that you got from CHM 130 and memorize them like a machine. He gives 1 hr on the test and they are super hard, you will not even finish the test. No matter how much I practiced and studied his tests are insanely difficult.

The 5 week summer class was brutal. Be prepared to memorize most of the equations and know your conversions. Lectures are 3 hours long. Study and do ALL of the extra credit offered or you won't pass! He gives you a lot of packets with 2 examples for each topic so use those to study.
