Comment:

Elizabeth is a super caring prof she's always available to help you on assignments. Lectures can be a bit boring. Reading responses were an easy grade booster but papers can get a bit tricky. She marks a bit tough but gives great feedback. She is also super lenient with extensions!!!

Comment:

Elizabeth was super cool, I just didn't like her class because I hate English. This is an intro course and it was boring to me as an upper year student. A bit of a particular marker but if you need help on the papers, she's all for helping you figure it out.

Comment:

Elizabeth is an amazing prof! Though her lectures can sometimes be long and boring, if you pay attention you'll know exactly what she wants to see. Her feedback is really helpful and she is a fair marker. Would definitely recommend Elizabeth to anyone taking this class because they need it. Put in the work, and you'll do well.

Elizabeth made ENGL 1130 very easy but it was also pretty boring- I would doze off in class half the time. Reading responses were easy grade boosters and there were a few papers including a research paper. I'm not that good at english but I found it relatively easy to get an A in this class.

Comment:

Not a hard marker at all as long as you follow her instructions carefully. She tells you exactly what she wants and doesnt want to see in your assignments. Readings and the responses are a pain but as long as you put in real effort, you'll do fine. She gets side tracked easily though and likes to put people in groups. Not a fan of that.

She really cares about her students and you can tell. If you are looking to improve your English and writing skills and have an excellent teacher, take her class. Very down to earth, friendly, and up-beat personality. If I needed more English classes I would absolutely take her again.

Odd prof. She oftentimes talks about the same thing over and over, so it gets boring and hard to focus/stay awake. Her lectures are long, but towards the end of the semester they get useful. Her grading is very hard (but helpful), but she sticks with the same reading for a month and it gets repetitive and annoying. Makes alcohol jokes. Had 9 papers

Elizabeth was great, but i felt her lectures sometimes were unnecessary and boring, and a lot of group discussions even if you don't really need one. very hard marker, win't go easy on you even if you do improve and wants the best out of you. the last project is a research paper and i felt like we could have had more class time researching

I found Elizabeth easy to talk to and she gives good advise on ways to improve papers. The downfall of her class is that It is very hard to improve your grade! Even after revisions! She is a really hard marker!

awful prof in an awful subject. granted u have to take engl 1130 as pre-req for many other courses, but avoid her if u can. just cannot put into words how boring and difficult her class is. be prepared to study on "urban livability" issues for the entire course. no clear study materials and tough paper topics/research. annoying high pitched voice.

AWESOME! My favorite instructor at Douglas College! Prepared me for SFU very well! Knowledgeable in the material she teaches whether academic writing, child lit, 2nd year Brit lit... At the time it seemed like she assigned a lot of reading, but once I got to SFU I was so thankful she did! Marks papers hard but fair. Thank you so much Elizabeth! :)

Started this course enthusiastic but now hate it as she's unfair and harsh in her marking. Nice enough lady but really brutal on marking and doesn't give students a chance to learn as she goes straight for jugular and give you really bad grades.If you're not confident writer, don't sign up for a course with her because you'll be crushed.

she's average. hard marker, nice person. e-mail or go see her during her office hours and she'll explain a lot and be happy to help. but very dry and boring class. lots of writing. she tries to force you to not leave it all until the last minute.
