If you want to have a humor prof, do not choose him. However, if what you want is an easy GPA booster course, or an easy pass corse, JUST CHOOSE HIM.

Prof. Zhao is a really nice person. But when it comes to the teaching... Every class was busy for copying note so there was no time to think what the knowledge is about. Did have pop quiz.

I wanted to hold off on my review until well into the class. Reading reviews here, I was dreading taking a class from him (it's mandatory for me). But what I can tell you right off the bat is that he isn't a bad proff -- but you gotta go to those classes, he gives you hints that you won't get otherwise. His exams are HARD!!!

Comment:
At first, it seems like an easy class. But to be honest, I don't think I learned a lot from his way of teaching and his notes. He thinks he is very easy on his students, but his exams are way too hard than what we learn from his notes(not fair). He doesn't really teach much, just comes to class and starts writing on the blackboard from his notes.

Attended his 211 last summer. His exams are way TOO HARD. He never answer email, nor being helpful to anyone. Avoid him at all cost!

his midterm and final are ridiculous. Only 4 questions in the midterm. If you do one question wrong, you lose 10 or 20 points and you basically say goodbye to a 80+ or 90+ grade.

He is difficult to understand and does not use the textbook, but it is very easy to take notes from him. He has an excellent system for notation, very well organized. This is something you rarely see in upper level economics classes. He also talks about grad school and his life in academia way to much.

The worst teacher ever! I got 97 in Econ 111 but I got 55 in his first midterm. His exams are short and unclear, as he asks for many things in the same sentence (like show and mention and explain..) . His English is unintelligible and his voice is low. He goes so fast and ignores the textbook. Don't take any course he teaches!

This was my least favourite prof ever. His lectures and notes were useless for the assignments. His writing is terrible and his notes explained nothing. He assumes everyone is smart and heading for their doctorate.

I don't know how anybody can say he is a good prof.He is a good guy,but an awefull teacher.I couldn't understand his english most of the time, and I rarley could make out his messy notes!!In some chapters his notes solve questions different than the text does, and he uses different symbols than the text,so I had no clue what they were representing.

Extremely smart prof and he expects you to be smart as well. I enjoyed his class and his stories about the history of economics schools. He gives good tips and extremely helpful. Take his class to see his style you may like it and take more of his classes. His English is not clear but he makes up with writing everything on the board.

Even though he can't speak good English, he works super hard to get the courses ready. He works all summer to prepare for the school year.Suck it up and give the man a chance. He's smart.
