This guy started off telling us about all these different orgs and stuff we could work with. turns out he had no idea about any of them. it was cool to get credit for an internship (that i had to find and apply to myself, he was literally no help) but this prof should not be teaching anymore. he spent class talking about nonsense.

Incompetent Prof. The most important thing to know before taking Field Ex. is that you you're going to have to find your internship for the class. Hates anything invented after 1970, and has no connections to any locations + no idea what he's doing (no matter what he tells you). Take this class to get an internship for credit, but DON"T rely on him

If you can avoid this class then do! often I think the comments on this website are exaggerating how bad it is. But these bad comments are not exaggerating. Completely useless class. waste of time. Its not even easy because you have to study a lot for the midterm and final which are all short answer questions and not straight forward at all.

I feel sorry for this man. He rambles on and on and spends several lectures on material that could have been covered in one day... and he's VERY boring. I fought to stay awake at every class. He practically had to beg us to participate.

Worst prof ever!!!! Never paid attention in class because he talked in circles about pointless stuff and gave lame examples. He shows videos that are from the early 80s about genetics, making the info irrelevant. The exams appear easy, but grading style is completely illogical!worst ever

Kanye West: I'ma let you finish Abravanel, but any professor does your job better than you. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS! Although I love working with children and learning to understand them I got nothing out of this class. Please don't make the same mistake and waste your time. Even if you have an interest in the topic he kills it.

On the first day of class, when I arrived a few minutes late, he was talking to the class about detecting weather patterns. I had to ask another student to confirm I was in a Child Psych class. It turns out he was giving a long-winded metaphor for "development" that took up a full 30 minutes of the class. I dropped immediately. You should too.

Interning at a mental hospital was the toughest part, other than that, the class was easy. He made us read a few articles on child psychology - nothing to do with my interests or any of the students. Class could be monotonous and long, but he would only have us meet every 2 weeks so it wasn't bad. Was definitely expecting more from him.

Take him for field experience!!! Your grade is based on your internship for 6 hours a week and one big final paper at the end!we only had to meet every two weeks to discuss our internship. it's an easy A.

He is one of the worst professors I've had to date. By the end of the semester, only 3 or 4 people were coming to each class, and he lectured for the full time even when no one was there. He has constant difficulty operating a VCR, and repeats everything he says multiple times, but no one is there to care.

Ok, I love child psych so I figured, despite the ratings for him on here, I'd enjoy it. But OMG he is the WORST PROFESSOR I've had in my 4 years at GW. He rambles on for the entire class period teaching absolutely nothing, his test questions are retarded and incomprehensible, and he was ridiculously boring. DONT TAKE HIM!!!! TRUST ME!!!

If you're more interested in grades than in learning the subject matter, his class probably isn't for you. I enjoyed his class and did well--you just have to attend lectures and pay attention to what he's saying and stop worrying about numbers.

he is terrible. absolutely terrible. his method of grading is completely off the wall, he spent about half an hour trying to explain it to us, but i still dont get it. i had no idea what my grade was until the end of the term. his lectures are irrelevant. i have never fallen asleep in a class, but i had a hard time staying awake for this one.

I dropped after the third lecture. He was a horribly unprofessional dresser (turquoise high waters), you've got to look the part to some degree in my book. He was lecturing about gravity and its discovery in a developmental psychology class. He's monotonous. Being in his class was like taking sleeping pills; you just couldn't keep your eyes open.

Nice guy, but awful teacher. His lectures usually center around emphasizing a few very basic points over and over through useless examples. Very tedious. Also, lectures seem kind of random, not really weaving together any significant info. Tests are strange. Questions seemed to be unrelated to reading material for the most part

Do not take him. He's easily the worst professor/ I've ever had. Lectures are pointless. There were questions that weren't in his notes leading up to the test, but he'd go over them much, much later in the year. I only went to class to take the tests and to hand in a paper. Other than that, don't take this class unless your a severe masochist.

I love child psych. I heard bad things about him before taking the class, but thought I'd do ok because I liked the subject. I was SO WRONG. He speaks in such rediculous language that it's impossible to know what's he's talking about and his entire lecture could be condensed into 10 minutes and it would make more sense. Usually when people say a professor is bad, I just think that they're exaggerating. Seriously, he is so bad I'd rather watch a blank screen for hours than sit there and be patronized by him. He is boring, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I'm a straight A student, and honestly don't even know my grade in the class. Yes, he's THAT BAD, and annoying.
