Prof Lacey is a good teacher. I believe that she made the class interesting. If you pay attention in class you will understand her tests. However, they are not easy but you can pass this class even if you don't do well on the tests. She gives you extra credit, so my advice is to do it and you will pass with no problem. I loved her!

I am currently in her public speaking class. She is the only reason I attend the class. She is very outgoing and funny. YES her tests are IMPOSSIBLE and Ive failed all of them but she is one of the coolest teachers I know. We never use the text book. Keeps the class entertained.

I had her at DCCC and I dreaded her class every week. She is a horrible teacher and is not available to help her students when they need it. She never responds to emails and has very limited office hours. Her tests have nothing to do with what we learned in class and she's very forgetful. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Professor Lacey is a horrible grader.Tests are almost impossible and barely relate to classroom discussion. I got bad grades on both tests and speeches which I totally disagree with.Passed with a B- due to attendance and participation.Also you rarely ever use the book unless it is for evaluations which you rip out and give to her.Hated this class.

I don't recommend taking her. She is hard, and very unclear on what she is looking for. Some people got much grades than others, when they were clearly better. I didn't understand her grating at all!

Vey unclear about grading for speeches. Read the text book for the tests ! Takes attendence everyday. I didn't do well on tests and speeches but i still walked away with a B because i never missed a class! Would not recommend taking her

Overall I thought the class would be great but as the semester went on you found out that she wasn't as good as a teacher as she seemed. Test were hard and she did OFTEN contradict herself. Only ONE textbook was used and there were only PGS needed which you Could photocopy if necessary. Test questions seemed Purposely confusing.

Prof. Lacey was a really good teacher! I personally had a huge problem with my test grades, and thought I was going to fail the class because of it, but if you go to class and work hard on your speeches, you can get a good grade. As far as tests, make a study group with other people. It helps a lot!

Where to begin? Let's start off with the fact that Lacey is incomprehensible. Second, lets discuss that she is stubborn as a mule. Third, She expects too much for a gen ed course, yet puts no effort in herself. Take a comm teacher that knows more about public speaking than you do.

public discourse took the place of public speaking gen ed requirement for honors. Nyia Lacey simply butchered this subject. She was not able to convey even the simpliest concepts in class lectures. Speechs were a joke and grading was even worse. When you attempt to ask a question expect her to skirt the subject because she will not know the answer.

She's a very very very good teacher. Even though I didn't receive the grade I wanted it was due to the effort that I put into this course. She's very helpful and cool. She makes herself available if you need help. She;s the only teacher who I didn't do so well in but still applaud her for her style of teaching

Leave it to people who don't want to work hard to blame it on a great teacher. Super easy to get along with. She sees right through excuses so just be honest AND DO THE WORK. Keep up with deadlines and ask for help if you need it.

Not a hard teacher but is a hard grader. I got a B in the class, thought I was receiving an A. It really isn't bad at all. She is a pleasant person and EXTREMELY helpful!

Not that bad. Take her advise. She is there a lot to help so if you have questions you can always ask her at the end of the class. She does respond to your e-mails. Lacey is a hard grader but work hard and you will do fine. Also, a very pleasant professor. I would definitely recommend her.

Absolutely terrible. I got a 97 on my first presentation and a 74 on the next which was better than the first! That shows how arbitrary and random her grades are. Tests are terrible and meant to confuse you, not to test your knowledge. You will learn nothing and hate yourself for not looking at ratemyprofessors!

Professor Lacey is a pleasant woman but that is not what is important in teaching. I would rather have a miserable lady who could be more clear in her teaching. She grades wayyyy to hard on outlines and fails to use proper punctuation on tests which can make it very confusing.
