If you're on his good side you're golden, he'll accept your late assignments without taking points from the grade. Full of *sometimes* interesting stories, goes off on tangents from time to time, but they're all theatre related. Pretty interesting class and I'd recommend it to people who dont mind reading 4-5 plays

He has favorites, but the students he likes are the ones that show up, and turn in work on time. He's a facinating man who really wants to help, you just have to ask and he'll go to bat for a student %100. Only take the class if you're interesting in playwriting, otherwise he will bore you to tears.

Outstanding! Best class ever! Interesting and relevant. Great sense of humor. Dr. Ashley keeps you thinking and makes it easy to learn the complex topics of contemporary theatre. His encouragement and guidance will help you to blossom as a writer or performer. Do the papers (very short) and expect to come out of his class a better person - really!

Great class! I was not looking forward to it and was a little unsure in the beginning...but he is great! Always helpful...responds quickly to questions and concerns and returns papers the next class. Great use of contemporary plays to illustrate the components of script analysis. Ended up loving this class even if it was required.

Franklin is an awful professor. I am a thrt major and he is one of the worst professors for script anal. If you're looking for an easy class then this is it. If you are looking to learn something about the art of theatre, then please take Mark Landis!
