Comment:

Professor Byars is a good professor but could come off as if she was condescending. Also, I felt like going to class was unnecessary because we just did vocab and looked a pics the whole time. But if I didn't go I was lost because the reading was so long and her quiz questions are very specific. Interesting class but I was over it early on.

Glenda was a fine professor. She doesn't really connect with some students which can be annoying in a theatre class, but you'll still pass.

Comment:

Glenda has been one of my favorite professors at CofC. She is very understanding and as long as you put in effort she will give you a good grade. If you do poorly on the quizzes there are plenty of other assignments that can make up for it.

Comment:

Glenda is super chill and fun, just make sure to read the assignments completely. Shes kind of picky about that. No tests, a few easy quizzes, too many group projects to count but overall easy class for an FYE. You're required to have a textbook and do assignments based off chapters, but I managed to find various corresponding quizlets instead.

Awesome teacher and a VERY easy class. Only took about 3 quizzes and they were all online and short. Very minimal effort is required to get an A in this class. 100% reccommend whether you have theater experience or not.

She's a very passionate professor but can come across as a know-it-all. There is a decent amount of work to do for this class, more than usual FYEs. She gives more attention to the theatre kids so if you follow under that category then you should definitely take her class. She is easy to talk to and will help you if you're struggling.

Glenda was an alright professor. She is nice but sometimes when you're presenting projects she will hound you with a bunch of questions which is kind of annoying. A pretty simple class, I would take it again, she just frustrates me a little at times.

Glenda was awesome to take because of her chill vibes. She's just living life. Lots of group projects and a little bit of homework but overall made it painless for non-theatre majors. The book is necessary for homework and quizzes. You have to see three or four plays.

Glenda is a really nice lady who cares a lot about what she's teaching. Her assignments and projects aren't bad and there are a lot of group projects, so don't take her class if you like to do work solo. She does tend to pick favorites and tends to favor the theatre kids over the non-majors. As a theatre major, I would take here class again.

Boy Girl or anything in between. This is a really fun class that allows you to relax and discuss some really fun topics. She is a lovely woman who looks out for you like a mom. Extremely understanding in all topics. She takes you on field trips to the museum and shops on king street because you are looking at fashion. Its pretty cool and I am a boy

Glenda is very quirky and personable with students. I felt sometimes that she picked favorites of the class, and her grading was a bit biased a result. Her acting feedback was good, although you have to ask for the help. Class is a pretty easy A as long as you try your best and let her know that you care.

I had a horrible experience with Glenda. She is extremely rude to her students and acts as if every question is the dumbest question she's ever heard. Don't ask her to repeat anything because she WILL be extremely rude to you. Her lectures are extremely boring and her guidelines for assignments are very vague. I wouldn't recommend taking her class

Did not like her at all. Super rude and insecure, always trying to put students down, and definitely not a good teacher for acting. She doesn't critique at all aka if you want to be a serious actor, good luck because you won't grow at all in her class with her help.

I love this class. Glenda is an amazing teacher. Its not true that she won't like you if you aren't a theatre major. I like when she gives me feedback on my scenes. Her test aren't that hard if you study and she gives you hints. She also doesn't give you a lot of work. Just participate and go in with an open mind.

She takes her class way too seriously. Her "quizzes" are 3 pages long and more than 30 questions. Crazy hard grader on her play critique papers. Pay attention in class because she makes questions from the smallest comments.. If you are not a theater person she will not like you.

She is an amazing professor and makes this class a lot of fun! The only thing is her quizzes are difficult if you do not read what she tells you to read. I would really recommend this class! I really enjoyed it!

so nice and always there if you need her. very understanding. she can be harsh sometimes, but only when necessary. you have to get out of your shell to be in this class though... can't whine either!!!
