Jeff is without a doubt one of the best teachers at our school! He has tons of insight to the industry, knows what's currently happening and truly wants the best for his students. Take any, if not all, of his classes and you'll be miles ahead of other people in the industry!

I took Jeff's tour management class back in 2001. Back then his connections within the music industry had evaported. Couldn't figure out why someone who hadn't done tours in 20 yrs. would teach that class? He talked about Bill Graham a lot, who is also ancient history. The course should be called, "History of Touring Bands".

Fabulous teacher. I was in his Intro class so it was more fun and easy than another of his classes, but I suspect his good natured humour and his music business acumen cross over to all his classes and Heavy Rotations.

If you work in the touring industry or have to interact at all with music business intermediaries, Jeff's teachings will serve as a clear foundation and a solid reference point for you. Jeff taught me most of all not to lose sight of reality. Always try to see through the hype and never take the first offer or jump at the first quote.

I went to a summer 3 day workshop in '07 and was so in awe of what I learned from him I signed up for the 5 week summer program that started a week later. That summer changed my life. He is one of the main reasons I am at Berklee. He is a great teacher. Lectures aren't even close to boring. Again, great teacher. Changed my path in music.

An incredible wealth of information, but you'll have to pull it out of him. He gets off on tangents telling stories and doesn't keep a lot of structure. Will stay after class and answer questions, and has a fair amount of office hours. Consider it independent study (which you should for a third year class), and it'll be worth the time/money.

Jeff is a GREAT teacher. Some people in HRR might complain that they don't know what they're supposed to be doing because they expect assignments to be handed out with a due date or something - Jeff doesn't treat us like high school students, as many teachers at Berklee do; he expects people to take initiative and figure out what needs to be done (as most internship supervisors do). It's real life. If you put in the work, you'll get a lot out of his classes, plus Jeff is just a cool guy to know.

Heavy Rotation Records with Jeff is somewhat of a drag. It's unorganized (not all his fault but) and not going anywhere. Too bad, because I thought it could be awesome. He is a really nice guy though, and will kick back and have a drink with you. I'd do it again, but it could be better.

Had Jeff for Intro to Music Business. He's Gary Shandling's clone, I swear it. Did HORRIBLY on midterm and final, and still got a C+. Impossible to fail his classes.
