Horrible -- doesn't teach at all. This could be a really interesting class, because it focuses on how chemistry relates to environmental issues. However, Dr. Atwood completely ruins it by being a useless teacher. Most of my answers on the tests were based on knowledge I already had of chemistry. I haven't learned a single thing. Avoid Dr. Atwood.

His subtle jokes keep class interesting. Usually about 5 min late every day. He's helpful when you can catch him, but being the director of the Chemistry Dept. he has many obligations. We never used a textbook.

Dr. Atwood is friggin awesome. Every single word that comes out of his mouth has meaning and relevance, and he talks slowly unlike most profs. If you love chemistry and the THEORY behind things, you'll love him as a teacher, but if you don't, get someone who'll spit cookie-cutter problems at you instead, you'll probably do better

Atwood is an alright guy. He rips out pages from the book during lecture so we know it wont be on the test. One annoying thing is he was usually 3-4 minutes late to his own class every time. His explanations are helpful. He also dropped out lowest test which was awsome. Overall good guy

Prof. Atwood is a great guy. He teaches the important info, skips the stuff that isn't important. He keeps things interesting and makes you want to come to class. I also really enjoyed the lab portion of this course.

Great teacher. Pours soda on the floor and pretends it's acid. If you don't know a lot about chemistry, I recommend this teacher. If you GO TO CLASS everyday, it should be a breeze.

He made class very fun while he was teaching. Unfortunately, a diff. teacher took over after only a few lectures. I learned more in the few days Dr. Atwood taught than I did the entire rest of the semester. He makes quant/analy. fun, if that's possible
