Honestly, I have no idea what to expect in her class anymore. She doesn't even really know what's going on? I haven't learned anything new in her class yet but somehow she makes it seem difficult with how strange she explains easy concepts.

Really did not understand much of the content we went over. We were consistently behind on the content. With six weeks in the semester left,we were four chapters behind schedule. Overall, just very unorganized. We also had a ton of projects that were confusing and extremely time consuming.

Seemed horribly disorganized, didn't respond to emails, always said she was "busy" when trying to see her in person or by phone. The subject isn't difficult but the tests she writes and constantly changing grading manner make the class extremely discouraging.

I don't know why everyone is talking bad about Dr. Umoren. She is the sweetest lady I ever met. I have to admit that her test and quizzes are confusing but it's college. Don't expect everything to be so easy and spoon fed to you. I took it 3 semesters ago and I got a B in her class. You just have to stop being so lazy and work hard.

I never met anyone like her. She is beyond horrible. She re-use lecture note and ppt and never upgrade. Besides those notes and ppt is from textbook websites. Never put any effort for lectures. She become very vicious if you speak up. She pretend like she was going to help you but do not ever trust her cuz she won't remember you next day.

I had her over the summer and she was terrible. She would go off on tangents about her childhood in Zambia and her back problems. For the final she allowed us cheat sheets, but because I left class early I didn't know that. Go to class, even if it is extremely boring.

She is the worst teacher in Nutrition. She is not helpful, discouraging, she doesnt show interest in the students and she doesnt offer any good advice to students in the futurre of their career. Because of her, I have to graduate a year in a half late because of her hard course which she makes difficult on purpose

oh god, I have her this summer! I am nervous after reading all of these comments! i need an A in this class and I feel like she is going to make it very difficult for us. if anyone can help me out and let me know if her exams are from her notes or the book thatd be helpful.

I really don't kno how this lady came to become the head of the nutrition dept. She is the worst teacher i have ever had. When she is not making any sense in class she constantly asks us if she is speaking tonga since she grew up in Africa, she is ALWAYS 2 busy 2 help students (or should I say "busy"). Someone needs to speak up about her! PLEASE!

She was a nice enough lady. I feel like she wanted to give us as much info as possible so would ALWAYS run off on tangents, very distracting.Tests were very specific and almost unmanageable to study every single detail she expected us to learn. She did, however, provide many many extra credit opportunities. So show up to class & do the extra credit

Poor POOR teaching skills. She consistently will contradict herself or will outright deny she stated a certain thing for assignments. She uses examples from the book that are in obscure charts e little to do with the reading. I took her Human Nutrition course, and just to give an example of how awful she is, on the last exam, over HALF the class FAILED. The average for the class was a 55%. Her lectures do not make sense, she notices errors in her powerpoints constantly and she does not explain assignments well. Save yourself the time and do not take her courses.

Dr. Umoren is a great teacher. She has a sense of humor, a little dry, but entertaining. I don't understand the comments below...her powerpoints are word-for-word from the textbook, and I could point out to you the exact phrase that answers came from in the book. Read and learn it, you'll get an A and find the class easy. She truly knows her stuff

Very disorganized instructor. She is not approachable in any way, shape or form. Rarely responds to emails, and when she does, it's with an attitude. Avoid taking any class with her. She also loses assignments and takes FOREVER posting grades!! She curved at the end almost 5% because the avg for her exams are 50%!!! BEWARE.
