He has a fairly thick accent. Tests were somewhat difficult, but acceptable. Some homework assignments were a bit repetitive and drawn out, but they were generally interesting. It would probably be in your best interest to actually pay attention to the time complexity sections of the course and learn about it.

He assisted in teaching CS2 this semester with Arup Guha. From what I heard he left and let be the first to say on this site THANK GOD. He is a smart guy and knows what he is talking about. Problem is he is the only one that uunderstands what he is saying. If you are a CS major look for Arup Guha and Keith Garfield. I just made your life easier.

Strong accent and very difficult to understand. Assignments are long and involved...but not impossible. 1st test was insane...low 50's average...2nd test average in the 80's and the final was fair. Don't get discouraged if you score low on the tests...just make sure you ace the programs and you'll be fine...massive curve at the end.

The class is EXTREMELY difficult, but he helps as much as he can. Go to his office hours and the TA's office hours! He spends a lot of time explaining the concepts and not enough time explaining the coding itself, so if you go to the lectures you'll do fine on tests but still fail the programs unless you know programming already.

He gives students alot of chances to do better. He gives make up exams and assignments at the end along with extra credit quizzes. He drops your lowest quiz and program grade. The closer you sit to him the easier time youll have in learning to understand him. Aside from his accent, nothing in class seemed overly difficult. I recommend taking him.

Unless you already know EVERYTHING about this class: AVL Tree, Heap, Recurrence Relation, Summation and you have masted programming, recursion, pointers, etc. DO NOT take this class because you'll be expected to learn all of these properly with notes that are plan WRONG, code that DOES NOT COMPILE.

I've never felt compelled to rate a professor before but WOW, this class was ridiculous. Exams are unnecessarily difficult and assignments are unnecessarily long and involved. This may as well be a graduate course, as you are expected to already know the intricacies of programming. I'd say to avoid this professor, but I'm pretty sure you can't.

Biswas is an amazing teacher, he is very helpful and cares about his students. His tests are very comprehensive and it takes some effort to do well in his class. His accent may be a little bit strong but if you just ignore that you are looking at very helpful instructor.

I never read the book. I only used it to write in notes from the lectures because he allows you to use your book during tests. If you've never taken a programming course in your life, this class will come as a bit more of a challenge. He posts the lectures online and gives pre-announced "pop" quizzes which you can use your laptop and book.He curves.

Biswas has a thick accent. If you haven't had much experience with the Indian accent, he can be difficult to understand. However, I found him to be very help and concerned for the student's progress for the most part. I found the material fairly easy, so wasn't extremely dependent on his teaching. His notes were enough.

HUGE CURVES!! first test 68% class average in 50's. second test 93% class average in 70's. dunno grade on final. did all the programs with most at 100%. final grade was an A. overall it was difficult but if you teach yourself and do the programs u should be fine.

I still remain amazed that UCF lets people that can't speak fluent english at all, teach their classes! That is this guy in a nut shell. I thought I was failing the class and actually signed up to re-take it with another professor next semester. With the curve at the end I got a B! If you have to take him, hang in there bc the curve saves!

The only good thing about this class is that there is a very steep curve at the end of the class for your final grade. The problem is that you will really need that curve to pass it. The average on the first test in the class was a 26%, the highest grade on it was a B-. You will have to teach yourself, we corrected the TA at least twice per lab.

I just hope you know a few things about computer programming before taking this class, because you will learn NOTHING. I took three tests and they were all very similar and easy, but only because I've been programming for years. You cannot understand this guy WHATSOEVER. I don't recommend this class to anyone.

Wow...this guy really sucks at teaching, i've had a plenty amount of programming teachers, and honestly my high school programming class teacher was better, much better... Biswas can barely be heard and/or understood. i went to a few classes than i just figured there was no point, luckily i know programming, but if you can avoid him,

He is one of the worst teachers i have ever had, and definitely the worst I've had at UCF. He doesn't speak English and he goes over things in class that make no sense whatsoever. If it weren't for his notes you wouldn't stand a chance of passing. He also grades ridiculously, took off 25% on one assignment that worked perfectly for white space.

his accent is the worst i've heard at ucf. if it wasnt for his use of overhead notes i wouldnt have a clue whats going on. seems like a nice guy, but be prepared to be teaching yourself. the assignments have been fun, the tests challenging, not impossible if you study. i dont mind him, but if you arent a strong programmer you're in for it.
