Comment:

For someone who has never used Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign, this class was NOT helpful AT ALL. We work strictly out of the textbook during lab and his lectures are fairly irrelevant to said programs. As a graphic design major, I feel as though this class has put me behind, rather than give me a decent foundation for future classes.

i found this class extremely frustrating because ive never used adobe illustrator, photoshop or indesign before and its like learning a new language. you just gotta stick to it and play around with the programs and you will learn more than you even realize. dont be afraid to ask for help, he doesnt give it out freely. lecture is extremely easy!

Ron is a nice guy. He will help you if u don't get something on photoshop. He is clear on what he says. He liked my projects which makes me be proud of me taking this class. He's got class type of music while u work. Take him.

I've taken many photography classes in the past 7 years and he was by far the most useless teacher I've had. He didn't provide any feedback during the critiques, if he did it was dry and discouraging. I really love photography and he sucked all the fun out of it. Try to take this class with another professor.

Ron DeJesus taught the lecture portion of my CDES 206 (Intro. to Photo and Digital Imaging) class, and I found him helpful as well as friendly. If you take his class, talk to him when you have questions, and be sure to study for the midterm and final! My only complaints stemmed from some of the questions on these exams, but Byron Wolfe made them.

This class is a joke, all I did was buy a book and he gave me a sheet of paper with all the tutorials that I had to do and turn in. Really your better off buying a book on Photoshop and Illustrator and learning the programs on your own. If your thinking about taking this class I would stay as far away as you can and learn the programs on your own

i was so excited to take intro to digital imaging until i found that Ron is unhelpful and unapproachable. He turns down creative ideas and is overall not very friendly. i highly recommend getting someone else for this class.

After 3 years at Chico, he was hands down my least favorite teacher. He made me feel uncomfortable and bothersome whenever I asked him about Photoshop. He is the WORST.

I have no idea why everyone thinks he's unapproachable and mean. I thought the complete opposite of him throughout the entire class. If you show him respect he will give it back. Just like any other college professor, if you show up to class, study and complete the assignements you will be fine. This is college people! Grow up!

At first i was really excited for this class and was very enthusiastic about my projects and when i felt like i did a good job the best remark he could come up with for any of the student's projects was 'its pretty good' not really being helpful or supportive. All in all made the class alot less enjoyable.

contrary to what others have said, ron seems to be in a good mood every class. He isn't clear on all the terms. If you follow his lecture outlines then reading whole chapters isn't really necessary. the book is a waste of time. The lab is a lot of fun though.

super cool guy... not the most relaxed or confident at the lecture part of the class, but the labs were really fun and i learned a lot. he puts on the eagles in lab and lets you work at your own rate

ron is a nice guy. it takes about a month for him to warm up to the students but he was easy to talk to. His tests are very difficult. But if you follow the outline that he puts on web ct when you study then you can easily get a B on them. The lab section is easy. If you show up youll get a B.

Comment:

Dejesus is a really nice guy. He is always willing to help you- you just have to ask him though! Exams are ok, you just have to study. The photo assignments are not that hard, although they time consuming. I spent a lot of time outside of class trying to finish assignments.
