great lecturer on history, and can be funny at times. but he gives hard tests, which are essay (which is worth 1/2 the exam) with 25 multiple choice questions (worth the other 1/2). you have to study hard and take great notes. do well on the reading quizzes because it will help your grade. all you have to do is read the chapter it's on.

Dr. Nelson is one of the best professor ever! If you ever need help just ask him. He is not exactly alwasy the nicest or easiet professor but if he sees that you're working hard and applying yourself he will help you, without a doubt. My best advice is to participate in class. If you do so than you will totally be on his good side!

THis man is horrible, i overheard him talking to another professor how today's students are of low standard compared to those enrolled in college in his earlier years of teaching....meaning that they are getting dumber every year by the way they act and attend classes FMU, he is an old man and needs to retire and do not take this man seriously!

His class was not easy, you HAVE to do the reading in his class; for history loving people it is a great class to take. He does alot of discussions and it makes it all interesting. I really enjoyed his class.

He's a good teacher if you like history. Listen to him speak and take lots of notes. If you don't like to read then don't take his class because you have reading quizzes to take. He's very funny if you get his sense of humor. Just prepared to read a lot.

If you want to get a decent grade in a History course I advise you not to take Nelson because he assigns readings for whole chapters at one time and only give about four mismatch questions for the quiz. He talks the whole class period and expects you to write everything he says, which is not clear. Test are bogus, so pick another professor!!!!!!!

He teaches too much from the book, and his tests and quizes are STRICTLY book material. You have to spend a lot of time reading the book out of class in order to get a decent grade. Very boring, sometimes rude, and barely writes on the board. You have to listen carefully and you are constantly taking notes. Take someone else!

I really enjoyed Dr. Nelson's class. If you want an interesting lecture then take him! He knows what he teaches!!! :) Take notes from the lectures and read. Don't freak out if you do bad on all of the reading quizzes...if you do well on the tests you should be okay.

Hard class. Its interesting and he knows his stuff, but the tests are crazy hard-half essay half multiple choice. Some people in class make like 12's. I make 60's which in his class is a C ugh. His quizzes are hard too, even if u read the chapters.

Well, Since I'm a History major and i had a 4.0 last semester..I figured I'd be okay in this class, I just want to know if anyone can tell me how to pass his reading quizzes..I just couldn't pull it with 4 other classes, I had to drop..so my advice is to take him only when you have easy classes
