Comment:
Though she is passionate about the class, she does not make the tests to the notes or to the book. Also, she makes students feel less important since she teaches at the high school and said she "has other emails to answer that are more important". The modules require A LOT of work.

Unless you are interested in working with children who have special needs, this class will be irrevelant to your career education. Unfortunately, Mrs. Kirby's tests are very difficult and her study guides are USELESS. Prepare yourself for 2 and a half hours of boredom-oh, and be sure to sit in the back so that you can at least try to sneak a text!

This class really isn't as bad as everyone says. Don't let her scare you on the first night. You must use your book to study for tests. She gives you study tips. Mrs. Kirby is very knowledgeable and if you take the time to go to her office if you are having trouble she will help you.

NOT as hard as everyone makes it seem. Lots of work but its easy if you do it. The tests were pretty hard but she gives tons of points just for going to class.

This class is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The tests are hard and the homework does take some time. But the material is something we need to know for our careers. Do the homework and study for the test and you'll be fine. Mrs. Kirby has been in special ed for a long time and knows her stuff.

If there is any way you can take spe2000 and 3000, do it. The things this "special educator" says are borderline making fun of those with disablities. The only saving grace for this class were all the people around me that hated it as well. Don't bother studying- information on the tests is different than the book and notes. Horrible.

No one has ever said this class was easy. It sucks, the person who wrote the second comment was probably professor Kirby trying to make herself look good!!!!!!

She is ridiculous!! TOO much work for her gen. ed. class. It is all busy work. She teaches NOTHING during the 2 1/2 hours of class. She puts up notes on the overhead, but then tells us not to take the notes down. Next, she'll give you an open note quiz, but she said not to copy the overheads!! Her tests are EXTREMELY hard! This class is BAD!

So many people are saying negative things about this woman but remember, she teaches over 50 kids at a time about a subject that we know little about. I thought she made everything she wanted from us very clear and completely possible to complete. Also, I had little problem with her tests. Yes, they were hard but people, remember these classes have to be hard. We don't want idiots teaching our children.

Very very hard teacher...must read all chapters for test...thinks if students do too well on tests that the test isn't hard enough...attendance policy is ridiculous...family emergency = UNEXCUSED!!

Tons of work for a gen ed. Too bad I even need this class. More work than my 4775 history class! Not ver accesible outside of class. Wants it her way or no way!

Gives way too much work and made us buy an $8 packet for the class. Always keeps you the full 2.5 hours, until 9:30. Unfortunately, she is the only person that teaches SPE3500 though.
