Comment:

This professors class was a breeze for me, but her inability to get exam grades posted was very poor and frustrating. Also took her awhile to reply to my emails, I felt like I had emailed her a ton, just reminding her to post grades and it would still take her weeks to post them!! Crazy!

Comment:

Snappy , mad and rude for no reason. Is not patient to explain nor to give prepared lectures. She has been teaching for 30 years and does not care anymore. If you need clear direction or expectation, you will feel lost. Syllabus is a joke, no real quizzes or projects so all your points are from exams. Exam 3 was very disproportionate, heavy. Run.

I do not recommend Professor Wolfgram at all. She missed several days during the semester, didn't keep students updated on their grades, and she will single you out and make you feel dumb for asking her any questions. It isn't difficult to notice she thinks very highly of herself. The class itself wasn't too difficult, but you will need to study.

Comment:

The course itself was a piece of cake, but her inability to post assignments properly and to let us know when they were due made this class the most miserable class experience of my life. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER IF YOU CAN HELP IT. She was extremely unorganized, unprofessional, and frankly, incapable of teaching.

The class is great for people going into healthcare. She is not good at responding to emails and consistently doesn't upload assignments according to the syllabus, so check your email frequently. The questions on her quizzes and exams are quite challenging so don't think that because it is an online class that you can just google the answers.

Taking her online micro class & I'm not impressed. There are a couple quizzes per chapter& a test, NBD. But what REALLY sucks is her giving us a powerpoint, and US reading every. single. slide. She doesn't talk through any of it. She makes notes at the bottom, but really? She doesn't seem very into it, and it makes me not either

She doesn't teach the material. When it comes to grading she takes way too long to give test back/ enter grades. She missed 3 classes. Shes not very clear on what she expects you to know for the test. The class isn't that difficult just with she explained the material better.

I liked her. She is pretty cool. She is pretty laid back on the lab write ups but that's a double edge sword too as the lab tests and minimal quizzes are based on those lab write ups. It won't kill you to miss a lab here and there if you have a group you could get data from, understanding what you missed is a whole other story.

Initially, you will be scared of Dr. W. She will snap at you for asking a question and you will not want to speak ever again. In lab, know exactly what you will be doing before you get there. Once you warm up to her, you will realize she's one of the best teachers you've ever had and you'll be a better person for having suffered her bluntness.

Gives note outlines, lectures slowly, easy to comprehend, weekly quizzes. Overall NEED to be in class. Welcomes questions, but answers them in way that makes you feel stupid, just get over it. Tests are hard so need to fully understand material. Overall a great micro teacher, I highly recommend her. I hardly opened book, studied a lot and got an A.

This class was definately not the easiest one I had that semester. She really expects you to know the material on both the tests and quizzes. I normally don't have to struggle too much to get good grades on tests, but she really made me work for the grade. She kept the class interesting and unlike others on here I enjoyed her sense of humor.

Comment:

Best microbiology lecture instructor at JCCC. She gives you the important info and constantly relates it to healthcare professions. Don't take her lab - it's easy, but you won't learn anything.

Dr. Wolfgram expects students to take responsibility for their education and she is very helpful if you make the effort and put in the time. If you take an active role, you will learn more than you thought you learned from her class. Microbio especially excellent for health care!

If you are meek or are over-sensitive, this may not be the instructor for you. She is very gruff and needs some help in the social skills department, but she is extremely organized for lecture and gives you everything you need for the tests. Make sure you study for her quizzes as they prepare you for the tests. Just ignore her curt responses!

Dr. Wolfgram is just her own person, you'll get used to her bold personality. She is an excellent lecturer and very fair-read your book along with her hand-outs. The labs will improve, so bear with it-read your lab book. Our lab was reorganized this semester so it was not as good as she even wanted it to be. You'll learn lots without pain.

All the comments on here that say Wolfgram is a bad teacher are wrong. She is an excellent teacher. I'm not saying it is an easy class b/c I definitely study my butt off for her test. She gives you everything you need to know for the test in her class notes (Don't skip). She is willing to help, you just have to ask. I would recommend her to anybody

Lab is disorganized and uninformative. Dr. Wolfgram doesn't even read the labs before class, which doesn't help. Lecture is ok, if you can get past her moodiness, tempermental attitude, and smarta** answers to questions. Listen to every word, the slightest comment could become a test question.
