Comment:

If you want an easy A, Margaret should not be your choice. Her classes are tough, but you will leave remembering the information you studied. She has very high expectations, but her lectures are crystal clear, and she teaches at a good pace. If you are willing to put in the work and want to learn, Margaret is an awesome professor.

Highly recommended to anyone with interest in plant sciences. Material is challenging and fast-paced but her lectures are very clear.

This is a non major class so the science content that should be expected should be what non major should know, but It's not. If you ask about a concept that to her is apparent she will give you an unbelievably condescending answer. She makes her students feel inferior and her tests are so picky and detailed that only she could get an A on them.

For me this was the class from hell. When I came inot this class, I was all excited to learn. Her test were the hardest tests that I have ever had and they drained me of energy and pulled down my other grades!

Comment:

Margaret is very picky, but its helpful in the long run. She's got alot of good advice and won't let you slack off. She's also good at returning emails. She even spent 1 1/2 hrs the week before watching and critiquing my senior sem for me. She seems intimidating, but once you get to know her, she's really nice. I'd recommend her.

She is challanging, there is no doubt about that. If you are not a science minded person like me I would not suggest taking her courses. She gets annoyed when you need help with basic science ideas. Though she is very committed to her expertice and shows that when she teaches.

It's not like I wanted to take this class in the first place, but she seriously had favorites. She was also very picky about papers we wrote, especially when it came to grammar. It's a FYS, not an English class. That was supposed to be the easiest class of my college career!

Margaret is more than willing to work with you. She doesn't like people who slack and are there to waste her time. She'll put you in your place and she can run a hard class, but you can learn a lot from her. I really liked her and she was MORE than fair

Margaret is awesome...you just have to get to know her. She is hard, but she'll teach you a lot. She is passionate about what she teaches. If you're a slacker or closed-minded, then you probably won't get along with her.
