He grades super tough and does not like a lot of people. Hes a really nice guy, but I would never take a class from him. More work than its worth for the grades he gives out. Will not tell you your grade until end of semester and does not like to be asked about it. Way too difficult for 100 level course.

Awesome professor! Learned so much in his class, definitely need to pay attention and take notes if you want to pass. Very lecture heavy but also encourages discussions .

Comment:

In Revolution, Rebellion & Democracy, much was expected from students regarding homework, understanding, etc. If you do the assigned homework, which amounts to a lot, and pay attention to his lectures with participation, you'll be fine. I loved this class in finding the material interesting and the professor enlightening: take this to learn.

Overall hes very smart and kind. His rule is that he's not a stickler with attendance but realistically if you don't go you might miss something he says that might be on the test cause the things he says are often not explicitly found in readings. Downside is there's only 2 exams and 1 paper so not many assignments to pick up other grades

Had him for mythology and it was a pretty good experience overall. He knows a lot about myth so pay attention and ask lots of questions. There are only 3 graded assignments the entire semester: one essay, the midterm and the final project in which you get to write your own myth. Pretty cool!

I really enjoyed this class. Keep in mind: you EARN the grade you are given. Do your work, read the text + come prepared. You will be just fine. We are in college + his teaching style reflects this. That being said, there are 2 critical papers + 2 midterms (1 is take home). I will be writing my thesis under his supervision. Truly a great professor.

He says, oh grades don't matter and just try your hardest and participate, but no grades are the biggest thing for him,this was an intro class and the hardest thing ever, so ridiculous for an intro class, should have been a level 200 class.
