Comment:

She's easy. If you want to pass, READ THE BOOK. Read the entire chapter of every section we go over. She doesn't really teach you everything in class. BUT she is easy because she gives out take home quizzes, she takes off your 2 worst quizzes and tests and let you use notes on tests. Her tests are multiple choice and only 20 questions.

Comment:

you have to listen to what she says to get the notes down. if you don't, her handwriting is very bad and won't be able to be read, so it makes it harder to take notes. she chooses pretty much the whole class to go up and write answers on the board. this year she has way too many quizzes and exams. so if you end up with her, be prepared to work.

Comment:

I took her Math 38 class in Fall 2018 and I loved it. She is very strict and gives out a lot of homework. She is very lecture heavy so its best to be there every day. I don't believe she is intentionally being funny but she was to me and she made the class enjoyable. The only downside to her is that she does not do make ups or extra credit work.

She definitely does not have any of the good qualities a professor should have. For one, instead of helping a student when they're wrong, she makes fun of them in front of the class, and will move on quickly despite students struggling. Students also spend more time correcting her than learning. Don't come looking for a nice environment with her...

Comment:

Martha Buibas is an excellent professor (my favorite) with techniques that will help you excel in math if you apply yourself. Cell phones need to be turned off. Don't be late to her class. It's about respect. She expects respect and returns it. She wants you to succeed. You'll learn a lot if that's your goal too. She's brilliant and compassionate.

Buibas was the most unexpected best professor I ever had. Shes well organized & Shes easy to catch up! You just got to pay attention & don't get distracted! There will always be homework and 5 exams. Do your work!! Finish your homework! Study well and it'll be an Easy A! Or maybe you can surpass? Will take her again!

This is the least capable teacher I've ever had. Her version of teaching means doing one or two examples on the projector and then moving on to the next section. all learning is done in study groups.

She tends to be wrong when showing work on the board and the class has to correct her often. It is hard to understand her lectures if you are not familiar with the lesson. Homework is due whenever we have an exam, but it is easy to fall behind if you wait until the night before the exam to do homework.

So she is from Romania and sounds like it. Hates cell phones being out, I can not stress this enough. She gives a quiz a week, and collects homework daily. Mostly she is hard to understand and grades harshly. Expect to do homework to pass.

She goes step by step over any questions you have. She's more concerned that you understand the concept than anything else. She is very friendly and always available to help you out. Turn OFF your electronics before coming to class. Not vibrate, nor silent, but off. She gives you the option of book or web homework. Must do homework to pass.

Comment:

She does give a lot of homework but not due till the day of test which is good and gives time to do it. Don't ever be surprised about a pop quiz because she does give them once in a while. She will only tell you off if your not doing. It is hard too understand her with her accent. Overall it was a ok class.

Comment:

She assigns a ton of homework, which doesn't need to be turned in until the Test date. Very sarcastic and funny. Work hard and she will help as much as she can. She does go through the material quickly, but will answer all questions you have. Some tests are multiple choice, which is certainly helpful in a math class.

I love her to tears. She is hilarious without even knowing it. She does all of the work with you. She calls out slackers. She will work with you during break and after class and during office hours. I like her so much that I'm taking her for my next math class. If I could give a higher rating I would!

Prof. Buibas comes off as very strict in the beginning but she manages her class well. She will expect you to perform at a college level. She assigns major homework but it's way easier if you do it online instead of from the book. Ask questions, she's helpful. Study, she gives quizzes and exams regularly.

Mrs. Buibas isn't so bad, she's actually nice. At first she may seem strict but you will get to like her. Make sure you complete all the homework which will help you do better on quizzes and tests. But she assigns way too much homework. if you don't do it, you won't get an A.

As long as you do all the homework and come to class, you will get a decent grade. Its definitely a good idea to make sure you understand the material because there are a lot of pop quizzes. She goes over all the questions you have though on homework, tests, quizzes, etc. She is rough around the edges but she takes pride in her work and cares.

Very difficult to understand with her accent, and unclear on almost everything. She's strict on attendance which I found to be annoying because I learned everything from the book due to her poor teaching skills, and would have only shown up on test day. Frustrating.

Yeah she has a thick romanian accent, but she really loves the subject and teaches it well. Seems harsh at first, but eventually she mellows out. As long as you attend class and do the homework then you're good. Don't like how she called on everyone to do problems on the board every single class. Do the hw for points to boost up your grade!

Comment:

Not as bad as some reviews would lead you to believe. The biggest complaint is her heavy accent, but its entertaining at times when she starts to rattle off numbers like a crazed math robot :) She is helpful when asked and sure, she will put you on blast if you deserve it, but doesn't go out of her way to harass students. Stop being sensitive!!!
