He is amazing, the course is hard with a lot of work due to the heavy assignments but you do learn lots. he makes sure you understand and gives great advice. keeps the class interesting by telling random stories about mines and boreholes everywhere in the world. easy to communicate with him although he travels a lot

Comment:

Worst slides ever. Loves talking about testing for uranium in water with his wife in B.C and showing pictures of himself beside marble elephants. Interestingly enough, his lectures will put you to sleep better than elephant tranquilizer. He's a brilliant man, but not a very good prof. As previously stated, its hard to filter out the useful content.

Very self-promoting. Loves his oil and shows the most unhelpful slides ever. Also gives very long-winded, difficult readings and lectures in which it is very difficult to separate the useful information from filler.

Greatest prof ever. Really funny and interesting. Easy to follow along and really knowledgeable. Seems like he's been everywhere in the world.

Comment:

Difficult course with brutal assignments (like straight days). This course has helped me greatly in understanding rock mechanics, general engineering practices and various industry applications, and was totally worth the pain. Prof knows everything about everything, a genius. He also gives great career/general advice on life.
