Quizzes you weekly on material she hasn't yet taught. Absolutely ridiculous. Spends the entirety of class time lecturing in a monotone voice. Doesn't indulge in any sort of class participation. ALWAYS keeps you five or ten minutes after class ends, and almost never gives papers back. Avoid taking her class at all costs!

she seems like she might be a nice person, but she's the worst teacher i've ever had. always late and keeps us overtime. takes forever to get papers and exams back. doesn't teach the material, just "discusses".

She's very helpful and very nice. Quizzes for each chapter are simple as long as you highlight the bolded and italicized terms, rewrite them with their definitions, do the test your knowledge questions at the end of the chapter (10q.) and READ the chapter. You'll bust your butt studying for the exams but you get a break with the essay. She's great!

Yes she is a useless Teacher, you'll learn nothing.... That's why U take Professor Charles Green for any history. You'll learn a lot, win a cherot and pass with either a A or B..

Be prepared to study & work your a*s off! Around 4 exams, short answer, a few short essays and one long essay. Multiple choice quiz for every chapter, and you cover many chapters. Exams sound easy but they aren't! One of the toughest classes I had freshman year, definitely a class that makes you work for your grade! This is NOT a breeze course!

She wants you to know the "who, what, where, when(VERY anal about the WHEN part), why, and how" of every event within a chapter.(and every chapter has about 10 events)Each test about 10 chapters. Be prepared to write an essay on everyone of them. If you can't bear it, dont take her class.

Homework is expected in college classes. If you do it, (and its not rocket science) you will do well. Her tests are analytical, you have to use your brain. She's helpful, but you have to do A work to get an A. She's a great teacher. But if you want cruise by without working... save your money.

Dr Hanson is very difficult. She expects her classes to do the assigned readings before every class. Tests are not easy either. She treats all of her students like they're honors students. Sometimes she forgets that some of her classes are not honors classes.

Tough teacher, but I liked her. Knows her stuff, and expects her students to know their stuff. She gives a good amount of work, but if you like history and are willing to put effort into it, it isn't that bad. Just be warned- you'll be working hard!

She expects too much from students. She makes her class WAY harder than what it has to be. Test are made up of short answers, long answered, short essay, and long essay. She gives no multiple choice. Dont take her class! She acts like her class is the only one you have to study for.Its sad.

i took one of her special topic classes in spring of 03. it was extremely difficult. there was a midterm, a paper and a final. so kids you're scriewed if you do poorly on anything. i advise people to stay away unless you are diehard history buff and extremely good with memorization

she expected tons out of us which could be good except that i dont think that she put much in, so its not right. the workload was almost unbearable and i dreaded tests--it was always hit or miss you could do alot of work and not see the results.
