Silly Canadian. Likes Bill Nye and Bill Cosby sweaters. Completely unfair grading. Take-home tests are IMPOSSIBLE. You will not get an A on his genetics tests. Boring in class, basically reads his powerpoints

Take Dr. Schisler. Intro to bio is a bit of a pain with all of the unrelated content, but he does a great job helping you see the big picture and grasp the important concepts. Funny guy and awesome at keeping labs moving. Highly recommend!

Not exactly clear when you ask a question and tests are challenging...but go to class and study hard for the final and you should do well.

Dr. Schisler is a great professor. He is funny, clear, entertaining, and a fairly easy grader. Tests are take home and multiple choice, but notes are not allowed. Labs take time, but you only have to write up 3 of them. Lectures consist of powerpoints which you can download before class with serveral videos every class. Highly recommended.

Dr. Schisler is a really nice guy. His class is a lot of work, but you can get a good grade. His tests are hard, but he does want his students to do well. His lectures aren't bad and the study session is helpful. The labs are long, but fairly easy. Tests require huge amounts of study time. I learned a good bit and would take another class of his.

Nice guy. His tests were pretty tough, but he's really helpful and meets with us before each test to bargain over what we want on the test and how many questions we want of each type (multiple choice, short answer, etc...) labs were fun and he assigned 3 lab reports, but ended up only doing 1 with a lab test that counted as a lab report. GREAT CLAS

Dr. Schisler is a big happy Canadian who LOVES what he does and has a knack for teaching. He esp loves bio/genetics students b/c that's what his research is about. Tests are tough but everything's separated: online mc tests for book chapters, 9 short answer questions for powerpoint lectures, and lab quizzes and grades. Final project=gpa booster.

This jerk made us do his research for him. This was the only class that has ever had to do a mandatory research project for bio 22 that directly benefited the professor so he could publish faster. The guy is about as clear as his grading system which is completely unfair. If you dont suck up to him forget about an A, run away and never look back

I'm not a bio major, but I really enjoyed this class. He invites every class to his house one weekend for a cookout and pool party. He is such a nice man and is willing to help whenever. All his notes were online, so we all just printed out the slides and brought them to class so we could listen instead of taking notes. His tests were so fair!

A very personable professor who cares a lot about his students. There can be a lot of outside class work, but he also tries to be flexible and accommodating if necessary. He can sometimes be very confusing (even confuses himself!), but he loves to teach. Tests are long and usually specific.

I really learned a lot in his Bio class- it is not stressful, there are no tests, but you have to really work on the presentations and the papers. Don't take this class if you are wary of presenting or don't like participating in class discussions.

This class is more of a bio-ethics class. It is very interesting and has taught me a lot! There isn't that much work through the term, except for at the end, then it gets tough. No tests...2 presentations, one paper

He's so organized and so helpful, and he actually makes genetics interesting. His class isn't easy (outside projects and research), but you learn a lot and have fun in the process. If you have to take Gen. take him
