Krigolson has been the best prof I've had so far!! You have a quiz to begin each class which if you show up, you'll get 100%. There is 2 midterms and a final but everything is laid out and so easy to study for! No textbook. He gives you all the questions that will be on the midterm and final so its an easy pass! He is hilarious so take this class!!

I really do not care how well-known or how successful he is in his field. Right, he may be a really knowledgable prof, but he does not care about his students at all. Please do not consider doing any honour studies with him or anyone in his lab. It is completely a nightmare !

Tries to make the class as difficult as possible, instead of helping us learn. He says he won't "spoon feed us" the material like other profs. his lectures are vague and disorganized, and his readings are large, and not focused on the topic at hand. Overall, i wish i could avoid him, but unfortunately his class is mandatory.

Interesting material, but lack of textbook or posted slides makes it less easy to grasp. Rapid note-taking meant difficult to interpret notes when you studied later. Lab was marked way too lightly and exams were marked very stringently. Spent more time on this course than most other 200-level courses and was often frustrated with his marking.

When informing us about student evals: "basically you can say what you want, I'm about to get tenure and I have a million dollars in grant money. So they won't get rid of me." If you like HUGE inferences based off of pointing at dots and EEG, take this course. You will skip over many other interesting topics to talk about his research in this area.

This was a seminar class in cognitive control. Essentially, each week read an article then discuss as a class. Dr. Krigolson is clearly very inclined to teach his students through discussion, rather than lecturing, which is the way it should be. Keep up on your readings and understanding of the material so you can contribute.

A myriad of inconsistencies. Save yourself the frustration if possible. I think in lecture the same ten words were repeated over and over the whole semester and it wasn't any clearer the 20th time.

As a visual learner who needs to read information to understand, I found this class frustrating. No posted slides, most slides in class are figures and tough to write out. No textbook to refer to for background information, learning done by listening to Dr.K lecture or from snippets of semi-relevant research. not great unless you learn by listening!

Krigolson is probably the best prof I've had at UVic yet. The course is definitely difficult, but he gives you lots of opportunities to make up lost marks. He adheres to what research says about learning and sticks to it, though it means no cramming for an exam. If you're prepared to put in the time then the class will be awesome!

Finally a teacher who seems on ur side. Takes what could b relatively dry material and makes it clear, humorous and applicable. Never trys to screw u, instead makes everything u need to learn and write very obvious and logical. Exemplifies the ideal teacher/learner relationship he talks about.

Nice to have a good prof who's a graduate student you can relate to. His lectures are entertaining, his exams are fair, and he makes you want to come to class. Funny guy who doesn't take himself too seriously.
