Calculus is hard regardless of professors. No break out test where you must score above an %80 or you don't get to try the second 1/2 of the semester and you fail. Strong focus on proper notation on Homework. High School Pre-Calc taught you to do as much as fast as possible. On your own: trig derivative song, quizlet flashcards for Derivatives.

DO NOT TAKE HER. She is a nice person, but should NOT be teaching big classes. I hear you saying, "oh she doesn't sound too bad." YEAH THAT'S WHAT I SAID, and this class ruined my life this semester. I spent 5+ hours a day on this course-including many 10+ hour days, visited office weekly-and even with that, I didn't do amazing. Take Dr. Walk.

Dr. Zhao is a great professor. She knows her material and explains it clearly. She has a bit of an accent, but I found it easy to understand after only a few days. Dr. Zhao cares a lot about her students, and is always happy to answer questions during her office hours. I found her grading system to be fair and straightforward.

Great Professor. Gives MyMathLab hw assignments every night and once a week you turn in a few hw problems she assigns. Sets up outside of class help sessions for extra help so you won't ever be left hanging if you have questions. Quizzes once a week on what you learned and tests are fairly easy. Def recommend taking her.

Has accent, but keep with it, it took me a few weeks. Weekly quizzes and rare take home worksheets are counted as test points, so work hard to get the concepts the first time. Go to office hours leading up to exams to go over review sheet questions you aren't confident with, she'll help point you to practice problems. MyLbMath help tab is God Tier

I am a computer science major so doing a lot of work has been one of my things. This professor is so unfair with her grading, she is absolutely hard to understand to the point where you don't even want to show up to class anymore. 95% of the things I learned in calculus were things I had to teach myself from videos and such from online.

She is a dedicated and caring professor. She gave us help sessions. Gives a lot of homework, but it's very helpful. Sometimes she goes too fast, but overall she is very good.

Started out the semester grading everything very tough, but as the semester went on started docking less points for mistakes. Doesn't curve but drops two lowest quiz grades. 3 exams and a cumulative final. Homework assigned almost every day, but only a few collected. Probably wouldn't take a class with her again though.

I think she is very underrated. She is extremely caring about her student's success and very accessible outside of class. She's not afraid to screw you if you don't show up to class or don't do homework.

She is a very good teacher. Cares a lot about the students. Most students don't like her because she can be strict with grading. But if you put in the work and do the assignments you will get a good grade. She has a good amount of passion for teaching.

By far the worst professor I've ever had, and I had a professor that gave 140/150 of her students D's or lower. Zhao doesn't help you at all unless you go to her during office hours and won't even answer a simple question for you during class. She's instantly rude and horrible to talk to. Thick Chinese accent which makes class worse. Never take her

I absolutely loved Dr. Zhao. She does give a lot of pop quizzes, but unlike the other people on here, I loved them. They were useful in keeping me accountable and it made me keep up on my homework. Truthfully, there is a lot of stuff to memorize, but it's PreCalc; what did you expect? If you talk to her after class she can explain more from class.

There's a stressful amount of work to be done in her class. But she cares for her students, and doing all the work assigned (however long it takes) will adequately prepare you for the tests and quizzes, as I recognized many similar problems. But it's Pre Calc, so expect an avalanche of things to remember for the test.

Between the pop quizzes she gives, the ton of homework questions she assigns, her over complicated lectures and a pace that moves faster than any other math class, her class was way more stressful than it needed to be. It's a class I had to dedicate almost all my study/hw time too and just barely kept my head above water. But she doesn't care.

She's nice and all, but her lessons and ways of teaching are beyond convoluted and confusing. The amount of work she assigns will leave you very little time to actually study the material. She also grades very harshly and while the material itself isn't hard, the massive amount of work and material covered/assigned makes for a miserable experience.

Nice lady, but in this class she complicates everything. She does small quiz checkups everyday, and unless you get the answer that matches her way of doing it, you will get a zero. She grades extremely harshly, and doesn't explain why we use a certain process. I got very high grades in all previous math classes, but this class I am doing poorly.

I am working on my second Bachelor's degree, graduated with highest honors from my previous college, and have always been a 4.0 student. I am currently failing this class, not because the material is necessarily difficult, but because Dr. Zhao doesn't teach well. Unless you have hours outside of class to sit in her office hours, don't take her.

Pretty good teacher, she knows her stuff but sometimes covers material too fast. If you do your homework every week it makes the tests pretty easy because she usually covers just the basics. She is one of the nicest teachers you will meet and is always willing to help. This class is by no means easy but if you put in the effort you will do fine.

TOo much hw and webassign. Not enough time for studying because there is so much hw. Quizes are not as tough. Exams cover too much material. She is very good at explaining the material. just that the exams are really bad!!
