Class time was well spent. Did spend too much time on basic punctuation, grammar. Book selection horrible. non-existant office hours. low grader.

Not a very good teacher. He always spoke about the "real world", then would show up ten minutes late to class.

I didn't like Dr. Eddy at first but he grew on me. He's passionate about writing, very helpful in office hours, and made me a better writer. He is a tough grader, but your writing will improve if you're willing to put in the effort.

Awesome class. Dr. Eddy is extremely smart and is very helpful. I feel like a much better writer after taking his class. I took two other writing teachers and Dr. Eddy was by far the best.

I learned a lot about writing in this class. In high school my writing sucked, but after this class I feel like it turned to really good writing.

Very interesting prof. Spent way too much time on where commas and apostrophes go, especially for a college class. Very hard grader, you make one mistake, and grade drops dramatically. Likes it when you come into office hours. Only three papers!

I thought he was a good teacher. I learned a lot about writing in that class. When I came into the class, I was a horrible writer, but when I left, I feel as if I grew in my writing.

Eddy is a hard professor who expects a lot out of you, but if you do your job you will do well in his class. His class has been one of the most helpful english classes I have ever taken. It is hard, but in the end it will be worth it.

He is a good prof, however he WILL be jack*** to those who are idiots. His class focuses too much on grade school grammar, such as, the use of an apostrophy. Really? Come on, we're in college. His assigments need more variety. Also, he doesnt tell you how he grades. Im pretty sure he picks a random grade for you every time. Get on his good side!

He made me feel like an idiot no matter what I did. I don't need 3rd grade english all over again. He is a good prof but is much too focused on the things that don't matter and doesn't remember that we are all in college because we are at least somewhat smart. I think he thinks we are still in grade school

He's absolutely wonderful if you're willing to learn and work with the material. Those that cannot write well may, to be honest, be doomed in his class. He expects good writing from college level students. One of the best and most deserved A I've received in a class.

Challenging class, but benificial because he forces you to strive to be better, and to become a better writer. He does get off topic on his lectures, but it didnt bother me. I also found it very easy to ask him for help in his office hours

He doesn't stay on topic. Sometimes it seems as though he's rather be reading a newspaper. His lectures are often completely off topice, i.e. an hour discussing racism in America for a business writing class. (made triply uncomfortable by the fact that the class is predominately white, and the racism discussion was mostly anti-white speech).

Very specific in what he wants from your papers. If you have one grammatical or spelling error in one of your papers you automatically get a C- on it. Only take this class if you are a good writer or have very willing and helpful friends that are English majors. Good Luck!

I have to disagree with all the negative comments. Professor Eddy was one of the best professors I have ever had. He makes you think about what and how you are writing because he wants you to suceed. As for not using to be verbs, he only stresses this because not using them makes a stronger writer.

The best writing instructer I've ever had. Forces you to work hard on your papers, sets high expectations...I hated him at first but then realized that my writing has improved immensely because of him.
