Comment:

Brother Skinner is so funny and keeps things interesting. All the professors for this class have the same tests, so lectures are the main difference. You can drop 12 absences and all homework is done in the weekly lab. Skinner is so laid back and very willing to help. If you have to take Physics, take him!!! Also, go to his TA reviews.

Comment:

Professor Skinner makes the class seem really intimidating on the first day, but it's totally doable! There are weekly quizzes on the reading but you have unlimited attempts. I had to study pretty hard for the tests but, if you put in the work, you can definitely get an A. Skinner is one of my favorite professors. I really enjoyed his class.

Skinner is the best! I visited other prof lectures and his was def my fav. SO funny. Class was hard at first but once I figured out how to study it was manageable. Use the practice problems and watch review videos online. I didn't know about them until the 2nd exam. First test I got a 75 but the rest ranged from 93-98 so there's hope. 90 is an A.

Just listen to what the others have written here: take Skinner for Physical Science 100. I was always laughing and made this class somewhat enjoyable. You'll be happy you took this GE from him.

I loved Professor Skinner, I am so glad I had him as my choice for a Physical Science teacher. Because I HATE PHYSICAL SCIENCE it is such a hard subject for me, and there is so much to learn, I seriously should not have gotten a B+. But he definitely is the best there is to teach, he's so funny and great at helping you understand.

Pretty interesting lectures. He's super funny so that makes it semi-enjoyable but if you don't like science then they'll still be boring. this class in general is a ton of work but it's the same across the board for this class so I would recommend skinner as a professor for sure. Pay attention and bring your i-clicker! go to review sessions too

Brother Skinner is hilarious and I loved going to lectures (you get points for going to class). He was clear and very helpful, really prepared you for tests. In some things, he got a little distracted, but it was a great class. He was very personable and cared for his students. A solid choice for physical science, but so are most of the professors.

Skinner was an amazing Professor! I really struggled with science in High-School, but things made a lot more sense in his class and he made you get excited about it! He and the TA's were so helpful for exams. If you do the reading and small quizzes for each chapter and try to do the practice problems when you can, you'll do fine!

BROTHER SKINNER IS AMAZING! The funniest, best professor I have ever had. He explains things so well, it's still a difficult subject, but he makes it a lot easier! He's a great guy, has straightforward tests and helpful homework. TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WON'T REGRET IT! Seriously the best class!

Cant imagine taking PS100 from anyone else. He knows PS100 sucks and tells you that from day one, but he makes it the best experience possible. Gives you a LOT of tips for the tests. I dont think other professors help you out like he does. And super funny Ive laughed out loud every class.

Randy Skinner is the BEESSTT! I am not good at science and finally enjoyed the material and started to understand it. He does not make his class too hard and does all he can to get you extra help with test correction and being a very kind grader. Take this class from Skinner!!

Brother Skinner has a gift for being entertaining. He made GEOL 101 seem like the most exciting thing. He shares many stories and also "joke time". I really became interested in the geologic processes driving the world after taking his class. He is a relaxed and cooperative grader which allowed me to truly learn for the sake of learning! Take it!

Good guy, mediocre professor. We spent a lot of class time talking about liberal political ideas instead of geology, and so we didn't even cover the last five chapters of material before the exam. He is great with making sure you understand the material and do well in the class, but it all seemed pretty disorganized.

Professor Skinner is awesome. Super easy going professor who really knows his stuff and is passionate about what he teaches. If you get offended by occasional "curse" words then don't take this class from him. Entertaining lectures and he basically tells you exactly what's on the test if you go to the test review class. Definitely recommend.

Comment:

Professor Skinner is the best choice for this class. There is work, but it is not difficult. He is funny and tries to make class entertaining. I took it last semester up in Salt Lake and it was worth the trip. Do the reading and weekly quizzes. The tests were a bit difficult, but the homework and iclicker quizzes buffer the bad grades.

I've never enjoyed going to lectures more than in this class. If you pay attention in class and do a little studying before tests you'll get a good grade. He teaches so good that reading the textbook is rarely ever necessary. Homework outside of labs is pretty minimal with only a small, open book, unlimited try online quiz before every class.

He's seriously the best professor. He's hilarious and makes lecture super entertaining. This class in general is just awful, but if you have to take the class, take it from him because you won't regret it. He does go over the test in depth and what topics you need to know, however I still found it extremely difficult to learn the material.

He is entertaining but gets side tracked easily. Sometimes it is hard to know what we actually need to know for the test, but he is very entertaining and class was enjoyable. He gave us very good test reviews. I'd recommend taking from him, even if it's just for the test reviews! He literally read questions off the test for us.

Seriously my favorite professor at BYU so far! He makes class interesting and prepares us for the tests. No surprises! 10/10 would recommend.
