Comment:
Very easy class if you just show up, and do the weekly assignments. He leaves assignments up for interpretation, making the class simple but difficult to learn from.

this guy was extremely tough to follow at times, and almost impossible to predict what he was going to choose for lecture. You woulda thought he just wings it everyday which wouldnt surprise me to be honest. But the class was easy, i did a rather moderate amount of work for the class even though my friend didnt do much at all and we both got A's

If you are an English major or just someone hoping to hone their rhetorical skills or perhaps learn something fascinating about literature, you will be sorely disappointed. Professor has virtually no plan before coming to class, making for an unproductive day. Did not grade the finals.

Very weird guy, I had him for Honors 1050 and half of the time, I had no idea what our essays were about. He wanted emotion in our work, didn't care about punctuation and loves run-on sentences. He goes against the traditional essay structure. A lot of reading was assigned but I didn't read anything and ended up with an A, which was surprising.

I don't understand what everybody is complaining about this guy is awesome! i took him for honors english (ENG 1050) and it was sooo easy. we have 5 novels (that you don't necessarily have to read), 4 essays that he randomly assigns without rubrics, and for the final you just have to make a powerpoint presentation. super easy and he's really nice

Despite all the complaints, I did not think he was bad at all. If you took him for a 1000 level intro course, that could be why. I took him for a 5000 level Writing Theory course, and found him to be easygoing and a fairly lenient grader. His specialization is theory/rhetoric, so I advise giving him a chance at a higher level course.

Man... this guy is a weirdo... nothing was stated clearly, He never followed the due dates of assignments on the syllabus... sometime the date would be set back and sometimes pulled forward. you never know... He is very unclear... and grades like freakin hard as hell... for me he ended our class 3 sessions before it was actually suppose to end. :(

This class was so easy. Only like 4-5 students would show up to class so we got to do cooler stuff like make a Detroit website.

Comment:
A slippery fellow indeed. His class readings were well-chosen, but his greatest contribution was the reading list, given out in paltry parcels weekly. A frustrated silence describes most classes. And not to be forgotten is the apology for the class immediately before the evaluations.

open to ideas about projects and perspectives in discussion. Always answers questions outside of class. Made changes throughout semester to the syllabus, which was confusing but it was less work and gave more options. Adjusted the weight of assignments had so we could raise our overall grades. would reccommend to anyone taking 5000 classes

He had a hidden agenda. Be very careful going in to his courses. Seemed to enjoy making some students squirm.
