SUCH an easy grader. English 1000 is mandatory, but my class was small, at about 20 people, and Rimi knew every one of us a few weeks into the semester. It's true that you don't "learn" a ton. But, sometimes his ramblings can get you thinking, and the class is a really nice break, especially around finals time.

Rimi is such a great person! He really loves students who are obviously there to learn and make an effort. He's a really Liberal guy, and if you talk about that with him, you'll surely win brownie points. I can't praise him enough. The class isn't too hard, and will love you if you put forth effort.

Very interesting man. He seems odd, but he is very engaging. He does get off topic at times, but his kooky lectures always have points to them. People that say that they learned absolutely nothing in his class DID NOT put forth much effort into understanding what he was trying to convey. I highly recommend him.

NOT an English class until you write a paper about strange topics. He grades somewhat easily but really tore my rough drafts apart. The basics of English and grammar are never spoken about so if you dislike English, take Rimi's class. He is an older guy who's been around the block and has weird stories to tell... just not about English

A very odd person and a pointless class. His discussions generally have nothing to do with the curriculum of the class. His comments on papers have much more to do with his opininon than quality of writing and can be offensive. If you want to get anything out of English 1000, don't take it from him.

easiest class i've ever taken. while you think he doesn't care about attendance he does, plus it earns you brownie points. He goes off topic a lot and you never really understand what point he is trying to make. He makes a lot of weird comments on your paper and even some harsh ones.

Didn't learn much in this class. A lot like my high-school english classes. Easy grader. As long as you make the corrections he gives you, you're good to go. Homework easily done right before class. Easily (and i do mean easily) goes off course on what he is teaching.

Never before have I been able to truly say that I learned absolutely nothing in a class.He's a nice guy,so I kind of hate to give him such a low rating, but most of his lectures have absolutely nothing to do with English or writing. His comments on essays are extremely random and not helpful, and his handwriting is horrible

Good lectures on really basic literary theory, but for the most part discussions were off-topic. Don't bother buying the textbook unless you're really hardcore; most of the material is handouts. Don't let his attitude throw you off - he expects good papers. Gives really random comments.

Class was pretty interesting, but he didn't talk about english very often. he talked about how he used to be an **** and cheated on his first wife. we did some fun in-class activities, though. a good and easy class if you don't really want to learn anything. he doesn't really tell you what he wants in the papers, but is an easy grader.

This is actually a whole semester overdue, but as was the case when I took Eng 1000, he was an easy grader and had fun discussions (albeit pretty off topic, talks about his kids, wife, and his past a lot). Was pretty lenient on when I handed in papers, too. Easily one of my favorite English professors, ever. Don't know if he's still teaching here.
