Shes very detailed and specific on what she wants. Her laugh is very scary. She makes you feel very stupid. The saying "No question is a dumb question" doesn't apply when you're taking a class with Timna. Good luck.... Maybe have a backup major.

Timna is the hardest professor I've ever had. Shea's there to help you if you ask for it. She's a tough grader and likes to nit-pick everything you write. I'd heard about this professor from students who had her before and all they said was true.

Really bad at teaching. Go find a job your actually good at would be my advice. She won't give you full credit for homework even when you provide the correct answers. Her lectures are all over the place - talk about not being prepared. "Those who can't DO, TEACH"! This statement has her name all over it!

She expects a lot out of her students in biochemistry and is open to helping during office hours. She is often very busy with other students coming in for help. I've always considered myself a good test taker, but hers were very difficult for me. Much more difficult than many other biochem courses out there.

I took Molecular Biology with her. The course was very good. Tests are well written. However, there are a lot of questions per test, so most students could barely finish in time. The other prof that teach Molecular is Christ Cole, who is a very good teacher. Still, I recommend Timna over him. She teaches this in the Fall, even year.

I had Timna for biochem and micro. She's very tough and makes you work. She is very helpful in office hours and will grade previous years tests and drafts of papers for you. She was more tense in biochem. Micro was more fun and she seemed to enjoy it more. Make sure you're organized and work ahead.
