Prof. Blackstock is an amazing professor with very engaging and fun lectures. He is a genuinely funny person and I really enjoyed his class, I wish every professor were like him. If you don't have your $#!@ together, you will fail. Show up to class, study for the regular quizzes, and study some more. Don't expect sympathy, he will not round up.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. He offers extra credit but then backtracks on it. Encourages us to go to professional events but if it isn't hosted by COB then he says it's not worth it & disses it in class. A lot of essays. He's rude & condescending. More than half my class didn't pass & he said he's not changing how he teaches they need to change how they learn

Encourages to attend all the events that are organized on the business campus. (Also gives extra credit to attend them) Loads of fun and real-world examples. Makes the questions and their answers very clear. You MUST attend the lectures, there is no reason not to. You always know your grades after each quiz and test and he also goes over the exam

I didn't do amazing in this class, but passed. But for someone looking for an A you will WORK for it. I understood well, just could not perform to his expectations every time which was fine because his lectures were GREAT. I enjoyed his class & the way he taught, wish every professor was like him. I learned a lot. Quizzes everyday so be prepared.

Dr. B is an awesome professor, and his class is great for learning the basics of economics. To succeed in the class, do what youre already expected to do as a courteous human being: come to every class, dont be late, stay in your seat the whole time, dont talk while he is teaching, and take notes. Read and do all of the homeworkyou'll be fine.

Probably the worst class Ive taken in my time at Louisiana Tech. I find him very rude, and his grading criteria ridiculous. Expects VERBATIM answers on tests rather than testing you on if you truly understand the material. Nonetheless, I did learn from the class if that matters to you.

His class is really hard but he just wants you to actually learn. My class started with almost 100 people and maybe 30-40 people passed. You have to study at least every other day because there are daily quizzes, but almost all the quizzes are test questions. Every test except the final was written response. As long as you study, you'll pass.

Dr. Blackstock is very engaging and explains concepts well. I enjoyed this class a lot and found that having to prepare for the daily quizzes made studying for the tests a lot easier. The textbook isn't necessary to do well in the class, but I think reading it helped reinforce what I learned in the lectures.

Daily Quizzes and strict grading criteria make him one of the hardest teachers in the college of business. But if you want to learn and actually put in effort he is amazing at what he does. Great Lectures but he makes sure you learn or you will fail.

All he requires you to do is take notes and show up everyday. Nothing to hard to do. He runs a tight ship but if you apply yourself, you'll do just fine. 3 tests, all around 20 questions or so. If you study your notes and what he tell you, you'll pass.

He is arrogant and disrespectful. If you try to speak up in class and your answer is wrong, he immidiately puts you down and makes you feel stupid, honestly. I would have much more respect for him if this was not the case. Tests are constructed response only. Will not take him for my second Econ class.

He's solid, but this class isn't an easy A. The daily quizzes are what kill people. If you do good on the quizzes, you should be good for the test for the most part. Take good notes and do your Aplia homework online every day. He's kind of intimidating and can seem like a jerk but he just runs a tight ship. The material itself isn't too bad. Take.

I LOVED 399. One of the hardest classes I've taken (avg 80pgs of reading/class) but I learned so much I didn't care. You read tons of articles, then discuss as a group in class (skip or don't talk? You'll fail). Blackstock is more chill than in lower classes, and very well read on the subject. Class discussion was always awesome.

Dr. Blackstock is great if you want to learn. There are daily quizzes and he expects you to know some material word for word for tests. He is nice to you if you pay attention and apply yourself. Memorization is frustrating but you appreciate it later when you don't have to rememorize stuff for higher classes. I always enjoy his lectures.

DON'T TAKE. Mr. Blackstock is very disrespectful. There are quizzes everyday at the beginning of class(must study every day to do good). The exams are tough except for the 1st. There is homework 2-3 imes a week(easy). The quizzes are the main problem, they don't help your grade whatsoever. If you are tardy and miss the quiz, you are counted absent.

The class isn't too hard and the material is also presented in an interesting way. His tests were pretty easy as long as you studied; the class average for the mid term was 95%. The daily quizzes will mess up you grade quick. he asks a question and gives you 3 minutes to respond, making you rush and make mistakes.
