I took his class a few semesters ago and just had to say something because so many students are bashing him. He is an older teacher and has a lot of experience. If you go to class and listen to what he has to say, you will learn a lot. If you make a point to contribute, you will get a good grade.

Dr. Fine is the worst teacher I have ever had. I've never written a review about someone, but I feel that students need to know DON'T TAKE HIS COURSE!!He'll get you with participation points at the end, even if you participate. I got A's on all tests and an A on my oral presentation. Ended up with a B-. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!

Wost teacher I have ever had in my entire life. The T.A. does all the test which are random facts out of the book and he tries to get everyone mad at each other with controversial topics which don't have anything to do with the class material. Unfair grading and you can't miss any classes or you loose 5 percentage points. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!

Do not take any of his classess he is the most unfair professor I have ever had!!!You have to teach yourself everything!He grades unfair, doesn't offer much help and doesn't accept others opinions unless they correspond with hia thoughts, very hardheaded! I can tolerate alot but he is just ridiculous and I regret taking his class more than anything

The class is very interesting and the instructor is extremely knowledgeable. However, a TON of reading is required and the class is primarily discussion. I would recommend this class based on the content but I'm not too fond of the instructor.

Interesting teacher and class but he is one of the worst professors I have ever had. There is only 3 assignments that make up your final grade so if you screw one thing up its really hard to get a good grade. Not a recommended guy

This Professor is a very interesting man. However, the class is long and it is all discussion! Exams are based on the readings. The only other part of the class is the manditory attendance and a 20min presentation. This presentation is pretty much a paper you write and read aloud to the class. Its an easy class if you can manage the boredom.

Dr. Fine is a great teacher! WARNING: he usually requires an oral presentation - both classes I took from him required 20 min. oral presentations, but he is a VERY easy grader! If you show up to class and participate it will be an easy A.

The class was just a discussion. He loves to talk. Tests are based off of vocab from the text, nothing that is covered in class. Attendance is mandatory, You lose 2.5% if you miss 1 class. I averaged an A- on all of the tests/papers and still ended up with a B for the class. He is rude and has a holier than thou attitude. Students are beneath him.

Highly recommended for an actual learning experience at a somewhat bogus university. Has no trouble engaging you to your fullest potential. You will do your best on written assignments and oral presentations because you know it will be fully appreciated. Grading is also much more leniant than it may seem at first. Intense and worthwhile!

Has some difficulty clearly communicating assignments; however, he is one of the few professors that has actually forced me to think. If you put out the effort you will learn a tremendous amount about the material and yourself. I highly, highly recommend him.

Professors lecture did not go w/ the class readings-the class was a marrige problems class & all he did was complain about the healthcare system in the US. If you don't explain every single minute detail on essay tests & writng assinments, you get a bad grade. Also, he is not helpful & doesn't care when asked questions about the class.

Dr. Fine is an amazing and progressive teacher. His teaching style demands seminar leadership. Paper/Presentation, etc. Class gets you to critically think and be reflective. Professor is a wealth of knowledge. Recommended but don't expect an easy A.

This class drags on and on and on and on and on... (get my point) every week! Dr. Fine is a good guy, but speaks too slow which makes class boring! I am an A student, but there is no way I will get an A in this class. Clear on directions for the papers he wants, but his grading techniques are very unclear! dont take this class unless you have to!
