As long as you come to class textbook you are guarenteed a B in this class. His stutter was like nails on a chalkboard for me but it's something a person can't help.

This class is pretty straightforward. He gives you 12 essay questions to prepare for the exams. If you sit in class and listen, he repeats the most important details over and over again. He gets a lot of his notes directly from the textbook, and if you pretty much memorize what he said and what the textbook says, it's an easy B+ at least.

Comment:
Not pretentious at all, as some would expect from a theology prof. Knows his stuff well, but is quick to tell you if he doesn't know something. The classes are a bit boring and he does go off on completely irrelevant tangents and the exams are brutal to prepare for (he gives you 12 essay questions and you have to memorize your answers to do well).

Although he allows you to prepare for his exams (predetermined questions), they are still hard to finish, and even harder to do well on. Sadly, his stutter gets more annoying each lecture; the textbook is extremely boring.

He expects a lot, yes, but that's a good thing - it means he knows you are intelligent enough to do better and it pushes you to do your best! Exam preparation is a lot of work, but if you do it there is no reason not to get an A. I also strongly suggest letting him read over your preparation before the exam - he is very helpful and it helps A LOT.

Good professor. Not overly exciting speaker, I did doze off a few times. Helpful if you seek his help. Exams are very hard to prepare for but I did well so its not awful like others suggest. The course is definetly not easy credits so only take it if you are interested in the subject matter, if not dont take it. Overall it was a good course.

Well-informed on his subject, and is very straightforward in telling you that he is Roman Catholic and that somewhat affects his teaching. A bit of a hard marker but gives the test format beforehand, so that makes things a bit easier. I definitely enjoyed his class and the stutter really isn't that bad.

Interesting course, but very difficult marker. Even after asking him what I made mistakes on or what else he wanted me to include in my discussions, I was still no closer to better marks than before. The exam prep is tough, but not too bad if you break it up over a few days. USE YOUR TEXTBOOK - Lifesaver!

Extradordinary Professor, always willing to go the extra mile for his students, honestly wants everyone to excel. Perhaps he has hard quizzes/tests but that is only because if you pay attention to and attend every class you too will know the course material (and if you dont enjoy what you're learning then why are you in the class anyway?)

Don't bother going to classs the lectures are erroneus and the tests are from the text. His stutter is OBNOXIOUS and he marks super hard. I attended 4yrs of seminary and have gone to church my whole life and this guy totally contradicted what i know is true. He was so...Catholic...and ill-informed about any other denomination.

well...he was okay at the beginning. Marks exams ridiculously hard and he is definitely biased towards certain students (who he knows from previous classes). Towards the end of the class made some statements that were pretty 'out there' and gives a lot of the protestants a negative view of the catholic church because of his beliefs

He is one of my favourite profs. He not only knows his stuff, but he also brings it alive for you. You better be prepared to take notes in his class because you will need them for your exams. His door is always open and he is always willing to help.

This prof expects WAY too much. He sure does give you the exam essay Q's ahead of time, but he expects you to read 16756754 pages before you answer one Q. On the 1st midterm, the class average was a C-!! In order to do well here, simply NEGLECT all of your other courses and spend countless hours memorizing essay answers.

Straight forward prof. Exam questions known ahead of time and answers straight from readings. Quotes from theologians help on exam. Class a little boring.

He repeated everything a thousand times. His exams were fairly straight forward. He gave you all the questions ahead of time. He says quotes arent needed butthey boost your mark. He teaches straight from the text, and often aligns himself only with mainstream theologians. Some of the stuff he says is hard to grasp if you are very religious.

He is very repetitive so if you like that, this is the prof for you. I didn't find him very knowledgeable when questions that weren't in the textbook were asked to him. He is a hardmarker so try and put in as much effort as possible on the essays for the test. He seemed a little bias as well.

I like him a lot. He's really really nice and funny, and genuine. It appears that he marks hard - but thats because he's looking for CLARITY not just content. So a piece of advice to future students - make sure your essays are very clear and organized.
