Overall professor Harrison is a pretty good teacher. Sometimes he doesn't teach very clearly during the lecture, but he was very helpful outside of class. Going to his office hours before every exam and asking questions cleared a lot up. Going to the TA lab with questions also helped a ton. You will have to work hard. Do the reading beforehand.

He's a nice guy he really is, but his lectures are so confusing that I'm often left more confused then if I had just stayed home. He'll take an already complicated subject and convolute it to the point that it's impossible to learn. If you're a really really good self-learner you'll be fine, otherwise you should probably look elsewhere.

If you don't like chemistry you won't like this teacher. You can't expect to just go to class and get the information clearly from the lecture if it doesn't come ready to you. He does do many more in class problems than other professors and you usually have a chance to change your answer and work with others on them. I found that helpful.

Lectures can be pretty boring. The tests are hard. I'm sorry if you have to take this class, but you'll make it through, I promise.

Dr. Harrison is really nice and willing to go over concepts with you outside of class. However, the lectures are not clear. The iclicker questions required for attendance often require knowledge of a concept that hasn't been taught yet. Read the book on your own to get clarification and go to TA reviews. You can get an A but it requires work.

I don't know why the ratings are so terrible for Dr. Harrison here. He is a fair professor and he was accessible during his office hours and was willing to help. The tests are difficult and so is the course. You will need to put time into this class.

Dr Harrison is always willing to help you understand anything if you go visit his office hours. That being said, he doesn't really teach you concepts while in class but instead only lightly reviews material. If you want to do well you'll need to teach yourself everything that will be covered in that days lecture before class. Tests are difficult.

"Those who can't do, can't teach." This class was awful. Lectures were super disorganized and rarely pertinent to the homework. Frequently the professor would miss his own in-class practice problems and each exam had multiple items keyed incorrectly. I honestly think it's a disgrace that I had to pay to teach myself all semester. Nice guy though.

Terrible teacher. He would mess up on his own problems and confuse everyone in the class and then test on things that we had never gone over. Worst professor I've ever had. Prepare to learn everything by yourself and even if you do that you won't do too well on the tests.

I met with him several times throughout the semester, and he really cares about all his students! He is really good at explaining things. Tough tests though, although it is chemistry...

He sometimes went too fast through the lecture material, but he was willing to stop and clarify when we needed it. He is super helpful one-on-one though, so I would recommend going to his office hours if you take him. And the quizzes are very difficult, but you are allowed to get help from others/ the TAs on them. The exams are reasonable.

Dr. Harrison is a super nice guy, and I was a little wary of this class from all the horror stories that people say about how hard it is, but I think he was very fair in his tests and grading. The online homework is super annoying sometimes, but that's not really his fault. For sure Dr. Harrison is a safe bet if you have to take this class.

This was a difficult course, but I would recommend taking it from Dr. Harrison. He is willing to adjust the pace of the lecture based on students question. He tries to learn names, is approachable and friendly. Form a study group and do the homework together! The weekly quizzes are challenging, but prepare you for the tests.

I've never taken a more boring class and students of other professors talk about how their professors allow study aids and helps on exam and he won't consider such when brought up in class that other professors are more helpful.

Dr. Harrison is SO nice and laid back. Nevertheless, it's a tough class. For someone who took chemistry for the first time ever in life, I quickly realized that his teaching style is more directed to those who already have a notion of the material. I had to rely on the book to learn how to solve problems. Tests are hard so get help from TAs.

Bro. Harrison= great guy, super nice but then the class... Rough, there are I clickers everyday in class to get some easy points that you will need. 3 short answer exams, super hard and confusing. Nothing like the book problems. Then you have a final, multiple choice and short answer. Good luck when you take this class!

He is difficult to understand and the tests are really hard short answer, and they don't really reflect what is covered in class. He is a nice guy and he will help you if you ask for it, but he explains it as if you know more than you actually do... which is no help.

He is very hard to understand. He explains problems very poorly in lecture and you have to basically teach yourself everything from the textbook. If you like hard, 20 short answer tests with NO curve and a confusing teacher... this is your class.

PROF. HARRISON IS THE MOST ADORABLE HUMAN BEING. Seriously. That said the class was pretty tough. He doesn't know how to teach well, but the homework is really helpful. He does fun experiments in class almost every day that make things exciting. Go to class because there are always iClicker questions. Tests were pretty tough. They are graded hard.
