Easy teacher. Class is about 180 students. About 5 homework assignments and a group project. All are easy. Try not to miss too much class, he will drop you. The nicest man ever!!!! Also learn to tie a tie, he goes over it a lot!

Hellard is an old school kind of guy. He is an expert in his field and loves it. Test and homework are easy enough to do. Do them! The field work is okay. Although I was lost from day one, I still managed to get a B.

Very nice and comfortable man to get along with. Elderly military man who loves what he teaches. Shows a lot of experience in the field. Tests are practically given to you. Field labs are simple and sometimes relaxing (Maybe not in summer though). HW is simple and minimal. Almost everything is in groups so make friends and you'll love goingto class

I have had several classes with Mr. Hellard and he has always gone out of his way to help if you ask. He can't read minds. He is very unintimidating so you feel like you can ask him anything. He is easy to understand and he tries to explain things as simply as possible.

I've taken 3 classes with this professor, trust me I wouldn't if it wasn't easy and fair. The Surveying Class is not easy itself but if you pay attention and ask questions he is more that happy to help. He keeps his office hours and is willing to help you understand the material if you ask for individual help.

He has a lot of experience and practical information about surveying. I found him to be very helpful and always asking if anyone had any questions. If you show up to class and put forth some effort you should do well. I think some of the folks who complained about not getting help might also have not been showng up to class regularly (just a hunch)

I think he needs better nutrition. He never remembers anything past a couple of days. He is a fair instructor though if you don't mind repeating yourself every few days or months when you need something from him. He always forgets.
