Comment:
Dr. Bronner is the best teacher I have ever had. Period. He assigns a lot of readings and the workload is tough at times, but the payoff is a greater understanding of American culture. Isn't that the point of college? Above all, he will go above and beyond to help a student (and with genuine interest). These are rare qualities. Wonderful prof.

Anyone who says Bronner sucks obviously just wants to cruise through college without working. Yes, he expects a lot from you (and makes you work hard), but I've never had a prof more dedicated to the success of his students. He is brilliant, and you'll learn a ton if you actually TRY!

Worst class and prof ever encountered. Way too involved for the level of class. Seems preoccupied with themes of women and sex. Attempts to focus response on these issues, even if subject is open-ended. We bought HIS book, barely used it. Other books were used, but ridiculous interpretations involved. Would never take him or recommend him again.

Bronner is the most pompous windbag I've ever had the dispeasure of (trying) to learn under. Stay away from anything and everything he "teaches".

Comment:
His powerpoints are not helpful at all. His lectures on literature are the least insightful of any lit teacher I've had. Not skilled at facilitating discussion. Nevertheless, not bad for a 100-level lit class. The Jewish lit reading list mostly was horrible, but he was forced to use it to get a grant.

Dr. Bronner is a genius. Lectures weren't always the most interesting and you definitely had a lot of information thrown at you, but you learn a lot from him.

His class was kind of boring. He does give you some second chances with assignments, so that is a plus. I just wouldn't recommend taking the course in which I was enrolled.
