he wrote the textbook, so definitely get the textbook and read it. if you aren't planning on doing audiology then topic is tedious but he makes it enjoyable, he's a nice guy with dad humor. tests are straightforward, all MC 33 questions you pick the best choice out of 5 answers.

Very tough. Only has three exams and 30 questions on each so even if you know some material if you don'd study EVERYTHING you are not going to do good. The material is heavy and he explains well but then says to read the textbook also so you are just going back between your notes and the textbook which has a ton of info

Professor Gelfand is great at explaining the concepts he is teaching. The class itself is hard, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. If you come to class, study your notes, and read the textbook ahead of time, you will be able to get an A in the class easily. It's all about putting the effort into your grade. You get the grade you deserve.

Prof. Gelfand is so funny. Every lecture he always made me laugh. I didn't use the textbook much because he wrote it and he explains it better in class. Tests are multiple choice only. You don't have to worry about answering Math problems or labeling diagrams. Just straight multiple choice questions. 3 tests, 2 of them were online.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Terrible professor! His exams are hard, mess up on one and there goes your whole grade. Does NOT give ANY extra credit what so ever. He doesn't like questions. By far the worst professor I have had in Queens College. He is actually infamous as the worst. I have came across former graduates and they all never failed to mention hi

Three examsyour grade. Exams are all multi choice, 33 Q, 3 points each. They are not tricky but you have to know your stuff. His lectures are very boring. If you read the text book and study, study, study you can do well. But, one bad exam grade and your overall grade is ruined.

If there is someone else teaching this class, take it with them. Ask around, and go with your gut. I didn't and I paid the price. Worked HARD: went to class, emailed him, and read that book 2-3 times. Here's the interesting part: I actually took 309 at the same (which I got a hard-earned A for). 208 is the pre-req to 309 & I did better there!

dont let others intimidate you away from this professor, hes not the best at explaining, but if you read his textbook and pay somewhat attention you will do fine. pay particular attention to the anatomy portion because that it is where it gets serious, and dont forget to read read read the text!

Prof Gelfand is straight forward. I had him for 208, 309, & 330 and my lowest grade was an A-, and A's in the other two. I liked him. Some people in this major just want things handed to them. Realize that it will get harder in graduate school. You have to work hard. Read the textbook, look over the slides and you'll do well.

Hard professor, but not impossible to do well. If you dont mind reading the textbook than you should be able to do well.To get an A though you must read the book and know it well.Do not just skim it. You dont have to go to class but you should because he explains the material well.

Take LCD 207 with another professor. His lectures are lengthy and not that helpful. His tests are not based on the lectures. Study the textbook only. Don't even go to class, doesn't take attendance. Just spend that time reading the book, every word 5 times. He wrote the book. It's not written too clearly. Does not give tests back.

only prof who taught this class. grade only based on 2 tests! he thinks very highly of himself & his learning disability, believes evry1 should magically know material he teaches bc he could learn it. he does u a favor by creating some slides on some material for class, not relavent 2 tests. xpects u2 memorize txtbk & understand his q's on tests

Straightforward no nonsense professor. Follow the syllabus and MEMORIZE the textbook. Take good notes and combine the class notes and your textbook notes. People who complain about Mr Gelfand are lazy. You actually have to do work in this class. All his classes for that matter. He is difficult but you will learn a lot.

Had Professor Gelfand for LCD 330 & LCD 309 the same semester. Wonderful professor and classes! He's straightforward, and his tests are not hard if you pay attention in class and read the book! He doesn't try to trick you at all and it's easy to do well if you put in the time! Don't let anyone scare you- he's a great guy and very funny!! TAKE HIM!

Hes really straightforward. No Bs. Its college and he expects you to work hard for your grade. 2 tests graded 50/50. Better test is weighted 60% the worse 40%. Study the textbook in and out go over your notes a week before the exam. You should be able to do fine. Still very time consuming, and doesnt come easy...
