Comment:

She is overall not a bad professor, she has a lot of assignments but gives you a week/2 weeks to complete them. She is also very lenient when you ask for an extensions or if you forget to turn in an assignment. Don't be scared by the comments, just know she is assignment heavy so be careful how you allocate your time.

Comment:

The class claims to be "Online" but still makes you do group work. Also, It's not really a hard class, but the amount of homework is just flat out ridiculous. The teacher is nice and is easy to get ahold of, but the homework is just a bit too much.

I DONT recommend this class to anyone. The book used is poorly written and exams are poorly worded. (As someone already in IT professionally, I was still dumbfounded by the exams). Lots of homework and the assignments basically make you rewrite the entire chapter. GROUP PROJECTS ONLINE WITH RANDOM GROUPS.

Comment:

She skips some details in her lectures but if you just ask questions and clarify, she'll be happy to explain better or in more detail. You get written Hw and a Lab each week they aren't hard if you pay attention to the lectures and read the textbook. Her class is an easy A but I got a B because I fell behind, always stay on top of your work.

Comment:

Lots of homework. Not difficult but do take up lots of time. Written reports about the assigned chapter are necessary along with mandatory discussions posts and chapter review assignments. The test are VERY difficult. They differ heavily from the assigned reading, so be careful if you want an A! Professor always responded to emails and questions.

You are on your own as the teacher talks about everything other than MIS. Papers are extremely difficult. Most of the times you have no clue What to do. Not a caring professor, fails to understand that students need help and are just starting their life and careers. Exams are very hard too. The time allotted for the exams is not enough. Skip her!

Heavily business oriented. Book is called USING MIS. Homework can take a bit of time. Each chapter has Active Reviews and Security questions associated. Our quizzes are open note, but you're only allowed ONE attempt and get a 24hr window of time to complete it after she opens it. Seems pretty strict compared to other online courses I've taken.

Online class run on auto pilot. It was all about following steps in the +1,000 pg book. You submit the work online, and the computer grades you instantly. But no feedback. No discussion board. When I got a really bad mark on three of the assignments, she never responded to my email with an explanation.

Assigned quiz of 10 question each chapter. Post a discussion post of a paragraph and respond to two different students. Assigned 5 questions w/different topics each chapter one to two paragraphs. Assigned an excel train. of 14 steps(usually easy) and the Ex. hmwk. Groups for 3 cases. Just split task each day and you'll pass w/no stress. Take Her!

Learned a lot of RELEVANT information in this class. Much more than i expected. Great class for both general information about MIS and computer applications in Excel and Access.

Online was challenging for me since this was my first online class. However, this really depends on you, and how organized you are. Shes very flexible with you, IF YOU ASK FOR HELP. Shes outstanding and would take again! Also, people who use MACS, its going to be challenging for you guys because MicroSoft ACCESS cant run on macs. GOOD LUCK!

You are definitely on your own with this professor. Assignments for the week are routinely posted late - you sometimes have to send an email to remind her. Case study projects are a joke - she probably knows less about them than you do. Sloppy grader - be prepared to send her email for the inevitable grading mistake which she will ignore.

I never thought I would find myself wasting time writing a review about a teacher, but here we go. I'm currently an aspired engineering student, struggling like hell with this class because this teacher refuses to communicate. I'm enrolled in CSIS105 and this teacher is awful. I've sent MULTIPLE emails to this teacher, and yet to receive any reply

Takes way to long for this instructor to get back to emails. This online course is not organized well and there is no input from the instructor and no weekly emails to touch base in anyway or guide. I felt lost and had to feel my way around. I would not have this instructor again!

Nice lady, poor teaching quality. She didn't seem to care much about the class. Not helpful, I often had to email her several times before response. She entered wrong grades at end of year, but she was sift to fix them. Think she has potential to be a good teacher, but she needs to put in more effort. Take class with caution.

Online class. Course was laid out nicely, material easy to follow and understand. Do your assignments and you're sure to pass. Very understanding if you email her and need extra time for assignment or help with anything.

Professor Terrie Canon was not an overwhelmingly good professor, but not bad either, especially when you consider the subject. I would say that the best thing about her, was her interesting stories. The worst would be the late grading and the occasional rambling during lecture. overall,I would recommend her if you are taking CSIT 105

I just came to say that the mandatory book that you have to buy from the bookstore is needed for the course. Although it comes with MyProgrammingLab. Please DON'T use your code for it. It is a waste, because it is not used in the class at all! Sell it on Amazon. I felt mislead by the professor when she told us to sign up on MyProgrammingLab.
