Comment:
Dr. Lynn himself is a very nice prof. and he cares about his students. The class, however, was not the best. As a Beatles fan, I was extremely excited to take the class, however, it turned out to be extremely boring. It was very lecture heavy and there was no student interaction. There are also pop quizzes that are weighted the same as tests.

His class is beyond boring and confusing and there is a ton of reading but he does care about his students. If you need help he will help you any way he can. Beware of pop quizzes and follow the syllabus the best you can but the class discussion very disorganized or take good notes.

Very thoughtful and intelligent man. The class was indeed very interesting, but that's my own idea, this course might not work for everyone. You do NEED to read the book he asked you to read, don't expect to get an A just by showing up in the lecture. Books are great, though, joyful to read.

personality of the professor is great! very caring, outspoken, helpful. but when it comes to class you must be prepared to take notes and ask questions. lots of rambling over many different terms, characters, dates, titles. you may get confused b.c sometimes he gets out of order. you much read everything he assigns or else youll fail.

If you're looking for someone to challenge you to think and improve, Dr. Lynn is your man. He's an inspirational and overall super adorkable guy. He goes off on tangents but it's because he cares about being thorough. Do the readings but REALLY pay attention in class. It's key if you want to pass. He's understanding and overall just a great person.

Dr. Lynn is one of the most passionate professors I have ever met. He truly cares about what he's teaching and it's evident in the way he lectures. Yeah he talks a lot and some people find it boring, but what he says in class is really interesting to learn about. And if you pay attention, it really helps on the tests. Definitely recommend him!!

This class is definitely my favorite. It's interesting and easy. You only have three 600-700 word papers to write and four VERY EASY tests to take. But be prepared to read a lot.

One of the better lecturers at Berks. He's very passionate about the subject he teaches, and makes things easy. If you're not willing to attend class regularly, or read the assigned literature, you will not pass with an A. The Norton Anthology textbook is not particularly necessary since all assigned literature can be found online for free.

He talks nothing about what you are currently suppose to be reading. Goes off topic very easily, which makes test a little hard. Doesn't follow syllabus at all!

I do not recommend this class. He is a bad teacher! He goes on tangents that don't pertain to the subject material, rarely answers questions and is simply hard to understand. His test are easy so long as you listen but it is extremely difficult to stay awake. Attendance is mandatory and he will try to fail you for missing more then 3 classes.

Dr. Lynn is a great teacher. Be prepared to take notes though. You don't have to read the books, just really pay attention in class. He will keep you for the full hour and 15 min of class, even on a test day. He basically gives you the answers while going over the readings though. Ask him questions if you need to & participate.

I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a quality English class. Also he is very willing to work with students, to make the class great!

Dr. Lynn is a great professor. He does talk a lot about the stories that the class covers, a lot of people find that annoying, but if you don't read the stories then you're pretty much set if you just take notes in class. He's a good guy, understanding, tests are pretty easy, class load is light besides readings. I'd def recommend Lynn.

He is SUCH an easy teacher. He doesn't really seem to know what he wants to say, it seems like he wants to say so many things at once. But he is really nice, and grades fair. Not a lot of work. He seems to get off topic mostly. And he does take forever to grade his papers and tests, but his class is the easiest class I have ever taken in college.

I don't know where to start with this guy. Just completely awful - probably the worst teacher I've ever had, and English is my major, so I have an inherent interest in the material. Consistently late to class; gave us relevant info AFTER we took tests; often kept class over by 5 - 10 minutes; went waaay off the syllabus. Don't take his course.

He wants students to succeed and is available to assist if you need help. He is very passionate about the subjects and teaching, and it is evident. He's a little slow getting tests/written papers back to you, but I would take classes with him again. He's fair, and tests are not too hard if you've done the readings and attended class.

He takes awhile to grade tests (we waited a long time for our tests -he often graded them in class.) Also, he told us to come to pick up our essays during finals week because they weren't graded and was grading them when we got there! Sucked for commuters. However, very nice & passionate about what he teaches. I'd recommend him and the class!
