He's a very nice guy & has been around the computing industry since the days of punch cards. He has very great knowledge with Unix & is a great teacher at it. All in all he's a fantastic teacher & genuinely seems to care about his students.

This guy is fantastic. He's very easy to follow just ask questions when you need help and you'll do fine. He's very funny and sarcastic and really easy going. He actually gave me the 14 points I needed to get a B in his class just to pull me out of the C range because I attended class on time every day. If you don't have him Get him for CIS get him

One of the BEST teacher's at DeVry, and the most caring and concerned for all of his students. I took CIS170, CIS206, and CIS407A with him. He won't teach you how to write incredibly complex logic, instead he focuses on making sure you have an excellent foundation on the subject your taking.

Comment:

Nice professor, but never really checks the work. As a programmer, once you understand the concepts, the professor should encourage creativility. This is what our technical field grow. He gives projects and expects everyone to design/code it the same way.

Teaches SQL clearly. Strick on grading. If you do all HW, you get full credit. Even if it's wrong, but you tried. Be on time for all classes. He charges 2 points for each hour of class missed. Tests are simplified and he gives class examples of what's on the test. Open book helped a lot. Nice guy. Down to earth. Listens to students but not pushover

AVOID. You will learn nothing if you take any class with Ramteke. He takes off points constantly, even if you're just five minutes late. But wait! He can just stroll on in ten or twenty minutes late and it's all fine! His books are just as awful as his lectures too.

Ramteke is a very nice person and sincerely tries to assist his students. However, his lectures and labs are very dull. I find that the labs are completely unrealistic as useful programs and do not demand enough programming logic.

Comment:

Knows a lot about C/C++. Programs are small but you really get to understand the concept and how the computer is responding to the code. He breaks the code down so you can see the output. Gives a lot of work but you learn a lot.
