Comment:

She has attendance problems herself, and then makes an issue of others' attendance. I didn't trust her; she acted one way with some students and differently with others. It was visible she just did not like some students who I thought gave great speeches. Very inconsistent how she treats people. No prep for exams. Unclear. Take someone else.

I loved her lectures and the way she helped us organize our speeches. I did not have issues with attendance from her, she was always there. I reccommend her highly.

Did not understand at all her system of grading. She needs to be on blackboard to keep students aware of progress. She graded however she felt like it and pleased some students tremendously while leaving others stunned who participated fully. Yes, her attendance was a problem. Total hypocrite! She definitely did not treat everyone the same.

Excellent teacher. Never had any of the attendence problems w/her that other students mentioned. Dont miss class, she often has pop quizzes (are very easy as long as u are caught up on reading). ALL tests/quizzes are open book/notes, except for group exam. Offers tons of extra credit. Very clear & informative - i enjoyed her class. She's funny too!

Didn't learn much; she is late and absent a lot. The focus on the class is on the written outline of a speech and not the actual delivery of it. Criticizes speeches that are well-received by class while prasing others that master the written outline. Work not returned in timely manner; strange tests; poor communicator and not approachable.

She is a very nice teacher. She does talk bland but not boring to the point of going to sleep. Her tests and quizzes are fairly easy, and her final was simple but I am sure she went easy on the grading. She does tend to play hookie but I still understood the material. . The only class were I actually met people and made friends.

Excellent Professor! I don't use the term "excellent" litely, either. She is very informative, engaging, and sometimes funny. Last assignment was a Eulogy and without it I never would have been able to write and deliver my dad's eulogy. Seriously an awesome professor. Do yourself a favor and take her! You won't regret it.

Nice lady, classes were okay. I took her class during the summer, and as someone else noted, she played hookie from class more than once. Her tests were open book which is fine if you get the jest of her questions. She's kind of bland in that she tries to be prim and proper, so don't expect her to make things exciting. Overall, it was ok.

She is very sweet. She didn't seem very responsible. She missed or cancelled 4 classes in one semester. Little homework, one group presentation, one individual speech, open book test and quizzes. The students taught most of the chapters to the class (group presentations). She did very little teaching.

it was really fun and enjoyable speech class. she was really easy on the presentations. we had one big group presentation and several 30-seconds personal comments in class discussion. 2-open book tests and some quizess. ADD HER CLASS NOW FOR SPEECH-9 or SPEECH-1. also, For International student who is looking for any speech classes. TAKE IT NOW!!

Tan Miller is a very sweet teacher!! I enjoyed her class! She totally makes you feel comfortable to come up and give your speech in front of class. She grades fair and gives you intresting topics for your speech. She was nice and understanding. I liked her calm personality!!!!!!

Class was extremely boring. Treated class as if it was high school. You could not show up late or miss class or else she would drop your grade. Wouldn't let me makeup an assignment I missed when my grandma was dying. Take someone else!

Horrible instructor, you'd be better off taking somebody else. There's never a study guide for the tests, or even a hint of what to study for.
